SR 188 at Gibson-Crockett County Line to Close for Bridge Replacement

Friday, April 05, 2013 | 05:43am

Jackson, Tenn. – On Thursday, April 11, 2013 a section of SR 188 at the Gibson-Crockett County line will be closed for the replacement of five bridges. The bridges are located in a half mile stretch of SR 188 between Old Trenton Road in Gibson County and Stokes/Elizabeth Road in Crockett County.  The project is expected to be complete by October 31, 2014.

The existing narrow structures were built in 1960 and 1975 and will be replaced with new box beam bridges. The new bridges will also feature wider travel lanes. The five bridges serve as overflows for the North Fork of the Forked Deer River.

A detour will be posted for the life of the project. (See attached map.)
