Friday, May 10, 2013 | 06:24am

MEMPHIS, Tenn. –A bridge repair project will cause temporary lanes closures on I-240 eastbound and westbound at Lamar Avenue (Exit #21) in Shelby County on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  One lane will be open at all times in both directions.

Lane closures for this project could result in travel delays. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and avoid the area if at all possible. Law enforcement officers will be on site in the work zone to provide traffic control as the work is being completed. TDOT also asks drivers to use caution, reduce their speed and be alert to changing traffic conditions in work zones across the state. All work is weather dependent.

For travel and TDOT construction information, visit the TDOT SmartWay web site at www.tn.gov/tdot/tdotsmartway/ or download the new TDOT SmartWay mobile app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store for Android. Travelers can also dial 511 from any land-line or cellular phone for travel information or can follow us on Twitter at www.twitter.com/TN511 for statewide travel information.  Drivers are reminded to use all motorist information tools responsibly.  Drivers should refrain from texting, tweeting or using a mobile phone while operating a vehicle.  TDOT advises drivers to “Know before you go!” by checking traffic conditions before leaving for your destination.
