Fall Creek Falls Inn Offering Special Package for Participants

PIKEVILLE, Tenn.  – Fall Creek Falls State Park, Cumberland Astronomical Society, Vanderbilt University’s Dyer Observatory and the Astronomy in the Parks Society announced today the Tennessee Spring Star Party will be held May 10-11 at the park. The program is designed to accommodate both beginning stargazers and experienced astronomers.

The Tennessee Spring Star Party begins Friday evening with dark sky field viewing of the beautiful night sky and continues Saturday with astronomy presentations and discussions. There will be more viewing opportunities Saturday evening. Saturday’s events also will include planetarium shows and a special concert.

There is no registration fee for the event. The Fall Creek Falls Inn will offer special room packages for guests May 10-11. A two-night stay in a double-occupancy room and breakfast each morning is $148, excluding applicable taxes and gratuity. The Cumberland Astronomical Society is an amateur astronomy club based in Gallatin. It focuses on bringing astronomy to the general public through events like the Tennessee Spring Star Party. Fall Creek Falls State Park features waterfalls, cascades, streams, gorges, timberland and a variety of recreation facilities and activities.  The park is located in Bledsoe and Van Buren counties, 11 miles east of Spencer and 11 miles west of Pikeville.
