Governor Haslam to Memorialize Three Tennessee Service Members Killed in Action

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, First Lady Crissy Haslam, Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Many-Bears Grinder and Tennessee Military Department Major General Terry “Max” Haston will memorialize three Tennessee service members killed in action.

For the first time in the state’s history, the Governor will also formally present the first Gold Star Families proclamation to Wayne Gearheart with the newly created Gold Star Dads of America organization in Tennessee.

WHO:              Governor Bill Haslam, First Lady Crissy Haslam, TDVA Commissioner Many-Bears Grinder, Tennessee Military Department Major General Terry “Max” Haston and Master of Ceremonies Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs Assistant Commissioner Mark Breece

WHAT:           Memorialize Sergeant Jacob Schwallie, Private First Class Glenn Schoenmann and Staff Sergeant Christopher Ward

WHEN:           Friday, May 24, 2013,10:00 a.m. CDT

WHERE:         War Memorial Plaza, Nashville

NOTE:            In case of inclement weather, the event will be relocated to the second floor of the State Capitol, Nashville
