TDVA to Host Veterans Outreach Event for Hamblen, Grainger and Jefferson Counties

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs is partnering with the American Legion Post 113 to host a Veterans outreach event for Hamblen, Grainger and Jefferson Counties on Thursday, July 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.. 

Representatives from federal, state and local agencies will be present to offer claims guidance, educational programs as well as jobs information. The United States Department of Veterans Affairs, Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs (TDVA), the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, University of Tennessee Upward Bound Program representatives as well as employees with Walters State Community College will be in attendance to offer guidance and information regarding programs and resources. 

Veterans will need to present a copy of their DD-214 and any other service related documents to assist with filing claims for federal benefits. 

WHO:              Representatives from the Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs, United States Department of Veterans Affairs, Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, University of Tennessee Upward Bound Program and Walters State Community College

WHERE:         American Legion Post 113, 307 E. Broadway Blvd., Jefferson City

WHY:              To help Veterans and their dependents to learn more about eligible benefits and connect with community resources
