Work Begins on Broad Street Intersection in Murfreesboro

Community Information Meeting Set for Feb 4th

NASHVILLE -- Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) contract crews will begin preliminary construction today of a new interchange on State Route 1 (Broad Street) and (SR 96/SR 10) Memorial Boulevard/Old Fort Parkway. 

Bell & Associates Construction was awarded the project at a contract cost of $17.6 million. Starting today, crews will begin preliminary construction activities such as installing construction signs and marking the project boundaries. This work will not impact traffic. In February, crews will begin relocating utilities.

TDOT will hold an informational meeting for the community and businesses next month. Officials from TDOT, the City of Murfreesboro and the contractor will all be available to answer questions and provide details about the project timeline.
