Offender John Brown To Be Released This Morning

NASHVILLE – Offender John Brown will be released from Lois DeBerry Special Needs Facility this morning at 9 a.m.   John Brown was convicted of murder in the 1973 deaths of David “Stringbean” Akeman and Estelle Akeman.  Last month, the Board of Parole granted Brown’s parole after serving 40 years in prison. 

Media will be allowed in the gravel parking lot at the Lois DeBerry Special Needs Facility starting at 8:15 a.m.  All media will have to remain in the gravel parking lot until the vehicle transporting Mr. Brown has left TDOC property.
