I-26 to Close Temporarily on Saturday night in Washington County

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Motorists should be aware of temporary traffic changes on I-26 in Gray at Exit 13 this weekend.

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 8th, the right lane in both directions on I-26 will be closed at Exit 13.  Full closure of I-26 will start at 10 p.m. and end at 6 a.m. the following morning.

I-26 Eastbound traffic will take Exit 8B to merge onto I-81 North for two miles, and then take Exit 59.  Traffic will then turn right onto State Route 36 for nine miles, then turn right onto State Route 354 for one mile before merging onto I-26 East.

Westbound traffic will still take Exit 13, but then use the on ramp to return to the interstate.

Detour signs and message boards will be in place to assist motorists through the detours.

Motorists should expect potential delays and use extreme caution while traveling through this area.
