Temporary Lane Closures on Sam Cooper Boulevard in Shelby County

Friday, February 14, 2014 | 08:44am

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Major traffic changes are coming for Sam Cooper Boulevard in Memphis as construction on the I-40/240 Interchange Project continues. Beginning Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 6:30 a.m. crews will be shifting traffic to the south side of Sam Cooper and placing concrete barrier to separate traffic and construction work.

For approximately 18 months, Sam Cooper will be affected between the bridge over the Wolf River (exit 10B) to the White Station overpass. Traffic lanes will be reduced to one lane in each direction while this stretch of Sam Cooper is completely reconstructed to add an additional lane in each direction through this section.

Sam Cooper lane closures are weather dependent.  Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent this work from occurring as scheduled, it will be rescheduled.
