State Fire Marshal's Bomb and Arson Called into Assist Sevier County Fire Investigation

Sevierville, TN - The State Fire Marshal's Bomb and Arson Section is assisting the Sevier County Sheriff's Office, the Sevier County Fire Department's Office, and the UT Forensics Center in investigating the cause of a fire that left two dead and four injured.  

 

At approximately 4:30 a.m., Saturday, April 12, a call came into the Sevier County dispatch office alerting authorities to a structure fire at a cabin in the Cabin at the Crossing development. At the time of the fire, 22 people, visiting from Indianapolis and Louisville, were staying in the cabin. 

 

The deceased are Ricky Hudson, 56, and Tayveon Temple, 5. Hudson succumbed to injuries sustained while attempting to get family members out of the cabin. He was pronounced dead at LeConte Medical Center. Temple was killed in the fire. Four others were transported by ambulance to Leconte Medical Center with injuries ranging from minor abrasions to broken bones. 

 

The surviving individuals, including the four injured in the fire, are returning to their respective homes today.
