Poplar Avenue Tennessee Career Center Moving

SERVICES AVAILABLE AT NEW LOCATION ON WALNUT GROVE

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development is relocating its Tennessee Career Center services currently at 1295 Poplar Avenue in Memphis to 3040 Walnut Grove Road.

The Walnut Grove Career Center will open for business at 8:00 A.M. on Monday, April 28. In preparation for the move, the Poplar Avenue office will be closed on Thursday, April 24, and Friday, April 25. Job seekers accustomed to going to the Poplar Avenue location may receive employment services on those two days at the Career Center at 4240 Hickory Hill, prior to the opening of the Walnut Grove office on Monday, April 28.

Career Center staff helps job seekers connect with employers who have listed jobs with both the Career Center and with Jobs4TN.gov – the department’s online database that has an average of 90,000 jobs. Job applicants can get career information, use the Internet, take part in job preparation workshops, and post résumés. 

The phone number for the Walnut Grove Road office will remain the same as the Poplar Avenue number: (901) 543-7535. Career Center hours are 8:00 to 4:30, Monday through Friday.
