MOUNTAIN CITY – Recognizing the importance of mentors in the lives of children in the east Tennessee area, Northeast Correctional Complex (NECX) held a fundraiser raising $3,043.44. NECX staff organized a doughnut sale for the offenders of the institution as well as themselves. Many staff offered donations as well. The money was raised as part of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-Cities annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake Bowling event in Johnson City.

“Bowl for Kids’ Sake is the signature fundraising and awareness event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-Cities. All funds raised directly benefit BBBS programs,” said Katie Carrico, BBBS Regional Director. “We really appreciate NECX’s support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Tri-Cities and our mission to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring one-on-one relationships that change their lives for the better.”

“Northeast Correctional Complex is dedicated to getting involved in the communities here in east Tennessee and supporting programs that benefit our area,” said NECX Warden Gerald McAllister.
