Commissioner Schroer Appoints New Director of Construction Division

Nashville, TN – Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner John Schroer names Will Reid, P.E., as the Construction Division Director. In his new post, Reid will oversee the division which is responsible for preparing proposals and letting to contract all TDOT transportation highway and bridge projects. The Construction Division is also responsible for the pre-qualification of all contractors who perform TDOT projects. The division also approves all first tier subcontracts for road and bridge construction.

Mr. Reid has nearly 15 years of experience in engineering, specializing in Project Management and is a registered professional engineer in Tennessee, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, and Ohio. He most recently served as Transportation Group Manager and Firm-wide Transportation Discipline Lead for the engineering firm Barge, Waggoner, Sumner, and Cannon.

“This division manages hundreds of projects and the complex issues associated with large construction projects,” Commissioner Schroer said. “Mr. Reid’s experience will be an asset in our efforts to increase our efficiency and deliver transportation projects on time and on budget.”
