NECX Death Investigation

MOUNTAIN CITY – The Department of Correction is investigating an inmate death at the Northeast Correctional Complex in Mountain City. A 24-year-old inmate was pronounced dead at a local hospital around 10:03 a.m. Saturday morning. His name is being withheld pending notification of relatives. As with all in-custody deaths, other than natural causes, the Department has asked the TBI to assist in the investigation.
