NWCX Death Investigation

TIPTONVILLE - The Department of Correction is investigating an apparent homicide at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville following an altercation between two inmates. A 58-year-old inmate was pronounced dead at a local hospital around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. His name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
As with all in-custody deaths, other than natural causes, the Department has asked the TBI to assist with the investigation.
