As of Friday, Aug. 22, all the spots are now filled  for the 9th Annual Muary County/Steve Brown Memorial Youth Dove Hunt on Saturday, Sept. 13. The Maury County wildlife officers are thankful for the response and continued support for the event.

COLUMBIA, Tenn. --- The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, in conjunction with The University of Tennessee Agricultural Experiment Station in Columbia, will be hosting the 9th Annual Maury County/Steve Brown Memorial Youth Dove Hunt on Saturday, Sept. 13.

Youngsters ages 9-15, who have successfully completed hunter education, are eligible to participate. The participants must be accompanied by one-non hunting adult. Due to space restrictions, the field is limited to the first 60 hunters who register. The Steve Brown Memorial portion of the event’s name was added last year in honor of TWRA wildlife technician Steve Brown who worked at Yanahli Wildlife Management Area in Maury County.

Events begin at noon and will include registration, lunch, clay target range shooting, door prizes, safety orientation, and the dove hunt. The hunt concludes at sunset.

All successful registrants will receive email confirmation along with a registration letter and map to the event site.

The event is sponsored by the TWRA, Tennessee Wildlife Officers Association, Columbia Noon Rotary Club, Corvin’s Auto Repair, Community Heating and Air, Cherokee Sports, and several other local businesses.
