BENTON COUNTY, I-40:
Monday September 8
through Saturday September 13, 9:00 a. m.-5:00 p. m.:  There will be temporary lane closure eastbound & westbound I-40 (MM 133.0 to MM 127.0), for milling and paving operations.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-424:  Bridge Replacement on State Route 424 over an overflow and the Big Sandy River.  Wednesday September 4 through Wednesday September 11:  A signal system is being utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 10’ lane restriction and there is a 40’ length restriction for vehicles during construction.

CARROLL COUNTY, SR-424:  Bridge Replacement on State Route 424 over the Rutherford Fork Obion River and overflows.  Wednesday September 4 through Wednesday September 11:  A signal system is being utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 9.5’ lane restriction.

CROCKETT COUNTY, SR-189:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from State Route 88 to US-412 State Route 20.  Flagmen will be present.

DECATUR COUNTY, SR-20 (US-412):  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from Wilkinstown Road/Bear Creek Road to State Route 69.

DYER COUNTY, I-155Bridge repair (2) over overflow right & left.  Beginning Monday August 11 through Tuesday September 30:  There will be lane closures in both directions on I-155, for installation of concrete barrier rail.  There will also be a 13’ width restriction in both directions.

DYER COUNTY, SR-104:  Bridge Repair on State Route 104 over Lewis Creek Canal.  A signal system will be utilized and will reduce traffic to one lane with a 10’ 9” lane restriction.  Speed limit has been reduced to 30 MPH.

DYER COUNTY, SR-211:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from State Route 77 to State Route 105.  Flagmen will be present.

FAYETTE COUNTY, I-40, Interchange at SR 222:  Wednesday September 4 through Wednesday September 11:  The east and westbound shoulders at Exit 42 are CLOSED.

FAYETTE COUNTY, SR-193:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from the Shelby County line to State Route 194.

FAYETTE COUNTY, SR-196:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from (US-64) State Route 15 to the junction of State Route 196 and Hickory Withe Road.

FAYETTE and SHELBY COUNTY, (SR-385) Future I-269:  Construction of I-269 from the interchange with State Route 385 to the Mississippi State line. State Route 385 is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge construction.  The project intersects with US 72 (State Route 86) in the area of the Mann Road intersection.  State Route 86 is reduced to one lane in each direction for bridge construction in the median. Motorists should watch for trucks entering and exiting the roadway from the construction zones and also crossing the roadways.

HARDIN COUNTY, SR-57:  Miscellaneous safety improvements at the intersection of State Route 57 & State Route 142, will result in temporary lane closures each day.

HAYWOOD COUNTY,  I-40:  Construction for the West Tennessee Solar Farm and Welcome Center, including removal of Albright Road bridge.  Wednesday September 4 through Wednesday September 11:  There are no scheduled closures.

HAYWOOD COUNTY,  I-40:  Construction at the intersection of State Route 76 & I-40 at the weigh station Wednesday September 4 through Wednesday September 11:  There are no scheduled closures.

HAYWOOD/LAUDERDALE COUNTIES,  SR-180:  There will be temporary lane closures at various locations on State Route 180, for striping and installation of snowplowable markers.  Flaggers are present.

HENDERSON COUNTY, SR-22:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from the I-40 Bridge to the Carroll County Line.

HENDERSON COUNTY, SR-22:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from State Route 20 (US 412) to Jane Street.

HENRY COUNTY, SR-69 (US-641):  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from State Route 69A to US-79 (State Route 76).

LAKE COUNTY, SR-22:  A widening project on State Route 22, south of State Route 21 in Tiptonville to existing State Route 22 (Cates Landing Rd.).  There are lane shifts throughout the project.  State Route 22 is closed from intersection of State Route 212 and Vaughn Road North to Cates Landing Road. Detour 3.5 miles on Vaughn Road to State Route 22 Cates Landing Road.  State Route 78 is CLOSED to thru traffic.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, SR-208:  A widening project on State Route 208 (State Route 209/Cleveland Street) beginning at State Route 209 (Washington Street) and extending to State Route 208 at US-51/State Route 3 in Ripley.  There will be temporary lane closures daily.

MADISON COUNTY, US-70 (SR-1):  A bridge repair project over Gilmers Creek.  There will be lane closures in both the eastbound and westbound directions on State Route 1, with a temporary signal, for duration of the project.  Traffic is reduced to one lane with a 11’ lane restriction. 

MADISON COUNTY, US-70 (SR-1):  A bridge repair project over Royal Street and West Tennessee Railroad. The outside lanes will be closed, reducing traffic down to 2-12 foot lanes, 1 eastbound and 1 westbound, also workers will be present under the bridge, repairing cracks.  Motorists should use caution while traveling through construction zone.

MADISON COUNTY, SR-5:  A bridge repair project over Middle Fork Forked Deer River.  There will be workers under the bridge making repairs.  Motorists should use caution while traveling through construction zone.

OBION COUNTY, SR-431:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from the North Fork Obion River bridge to US-51 (State Route 3).

SHELBY COUNTY, Fite RoadBeginning Monday September 8 through Friday September 12: Resurfacing work will cause the northbound outside lane to be temporarily closed from State Route 3 to Woodstock Road.  Three lanes will remain open.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge over MS River Phase 8:
Wednesday September 3
through Wednesday September 10:  The exit ramp for westbound Interstate 40 to Second Street, will be closed for about six months.  The Exit ramp from Westbound I-40 to Riverside Drive has been narrowed to 14 feet. “Wide loads” are restricted from using this. The Entrance ramp from Riverside Drive to I-40 Eastbound has been narrowed to 12 feet and “wide loads” are restricted from using this. 

Monday, July 28 at 9:00 a. m. EXIT 1, which is the first eastbound exit to Riverside Drive and Front Street was temporarily CLOSED.  A detour route will be posted.
LOOK AHEAD: Exit 1 on Eastbound I-40 will be opening by the end of September.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 Bridge over MS River Phase 9:
Wednesday September 3
through Wednesday September 10:  Traffic will remain in the current configuration until mid-October 2014.  Traffic on the bridge is configured as follows: work zone on the north side of the bridge, 2 lanes westbound traffic in the center of the bridge and 2 lanes eastbound traffic on south side of the bridge. Two lanes will remain open in each direction.  Lane closures on the I-40 bridge will be required until approximately December 15, 2014.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40 at Canada Road
Wednesday September 3
through Wednesday September 10:  I-40 speed limit has been reduced to 55 MPH.  There are no scheduled closures.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-240 North of SR-385 to North of Walnut Grove Rd.: Wednesday September 3 through Wednesday September 10:  A widening project on I-240 will cause temporary lane closures.  The permanent ramps on the west side of I-240 at Walnut Grove have been opened as well as a portion of the new CD road on westbound I-240 is in use.  The permanent ramp from westbound Poplar to eastbound I-240 has also been opened and traffic is using a portion of the CD road on eastbound I-240.  A traffic phase change will begin Saturday August 16, 2014 in which the new CD road on eastbound I-240 will be completely open from beginning of project to just north of Poplar.  SPECIAL NOTE:  All eastbound I-240 traffic that wishes to exit onto eastbound or westbound Poplar (Exits 15A and 15B) MUST USE the new CD road to access these ramps.  Traffic from eastbound or westbound Poplar will also be using the new CD road as designed.

Thursday September 4, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  Two left and 2 right lanes of I-240 westbound will be CLOSED between MM 14.5 and MM 14.0, for installation of loop wire for traffic counter and or the completion of re-striping of mainline I-240.  This will entail the closure of two left lanes and then shift traffic to close two right lanes.  WEATHER PERMITTING.

Saturday September 6 & Sunday September 7, 6:00 a. m.-6: p. m.:  The left lane of I-240 eastbound will be CLOSED between MM 16.0 to MM 13.0 for the installation of portable barrier rail along median.  WEATHER PERMITTING.

Sunday September 7 through Tuesday September 9, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  Two left or 2 right lanes ofI-240 eastbound will be CLOSED between MM 16.0 and MM 13.0, for the final surface paving.  WEATHER PERMITTING.

Wednesday September 10 through Friday September 12, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be intermittent closure of ramps 15G, 15H, 15F and 15E, for the final surface paving of eastbound I-240 mainline.  These are the entrance/exit ramps for Poplar to eastbound I-240. WEATHER PERMITTING.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-40/I-240 Phase 2 Interchange Improvements Wednesday September 3 through Wednesday September 10:  Modification of the I-40/I-240 interchange.

Beginning Monday February 10:  The right lane of eastbound Summer Avenue was CLOSED, beginning just west of the existing I-240 northbound bridge over Summer Avenue, for the installation of portable barrier rail to allow for construction of Abutment 1/Wall 12.  This will be a permanent lane closure.

Thursday September 4 & Friday Saturday 5, 9:00 a. m.-3:00 p. m.:  Reduce lanes on Summer Avenue to one lane in each direction, beginning near the red light at White Station Road and extending to the red light at the existing Summer Avenue entrance ramps, for installation of bridge girders on the bridge over Summer Avenue.  Expect intermittent traffic stoppages. THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

Saturday September 6 & Sunday September 7, 6:00 a. m.-6:30 p. m.:  One lane of westbound and eastbound I-40 between Exits 12 and 12C (Wolf River bridge and Sycamore View) will be CLOSED, for the installation of temporary barrier rail.  The shoulders of eastbound and westbound I-40 and the inside lane of eastbound I-40 between Exits 12 and 12C will remain closed to allow for the construction of an overhead sign structure for approximately four weeks.  Weather Permitting.

Saturday September 6 & Sunday September 7, 6:00 a. m.-6:30 p. m.:  One lane of westbound and eastbound I-40 between Exits 16 and 18 (Germantown Parkway and Highway 64) will be CLOSED, for the installation of temporary barrier rail. The shoulders of eastbound and westbound I-40 and the inside lane of westbound I-40 between Exits 16 and 18 will remain closed to allow for the construction of an overhead sign structure for approximately four weeks.  Weather Permitting.

Tuesday September 9 & Wednesday September 10, 9:00 a. m.-3:00 p. m.:  Reduce lanes on Summer Avenue to one lane in each direction, beginning near the red light at White Station Road and extending to the red light at the existing Summer Avenue entrance ramps, for installation of bridge girders over Summer Avenue. Expect intermittent traffic stoppages. THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

LOOK AHEAD:  Saturday September 13, 6:00 a. m. through Sunday September 14, 5:00 p. m.:  The ramp from I-240 northbound to go west on Sam Cooper Boulevard (traveling Arkansas to Sam Cooper) will be CLOSED, to allow for the erection of steel girders across the ramp.  A detour will be provided for ramp traffic, but all motorists who would normally use that ramp are encouraged to seek an alternate route.

SHELBY COUNTY, I-55:  The I-55 Welcome Center is CLOSED due to construction of a new facility.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-1 (US-51)Monday September 8 through Thursday September 11, 7:00 p. m. through 6:00 a. m.:  There will be temporary lane closures on State Route 1 between mile marker 31.5- 29.5 in both directions, for milling and installation of signal loops between Crump Boulevard and Union Avenue.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-14 (US-61):  A replacement of the bridge over Illinois Central Railroad from South Parkway to McLemore Avenue.  Roadway is CLOSED, a detour route is posted.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-15:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from Bartlett Boulevard to the Bridge over Fletcher Creek.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-86 (US-72):  Construction on State Route 86 (US-72) for a widening project north of Quinn Road to State Route 57 (Poplar Avenue) in Collierville. Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction.  South Rowlett Street is closed to through traffic in the vicinity of the State Route 86 bridge over the Norfolk Southern Railroad.  Motorists may use Wilson Street to Harris Street as a detour.

SHELBY COUNTY, Grade, drain, pave SR-177 (Germantown Rd); Crestridge Rd to Stout Rd:
Wednesday September 3
through Wednesday September 10:  There will be intermittent lane closures on State Route 177 (Germantown Road), between Germantown City Limits (log mile 1.65) to Stout Road (log mile 2.40).  The closures will be intermittent and for as short a time as possible.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-204:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from Raleigh-LaGrange Road to State Route 14.

SHELBY COUNTY, SR-385:  Bridge Repair (2) on State Route 385 over Loosahatchie River. Traffic will be reduced to one northbound and one southbound lane; a twelve (12’) lane will be maintained in each direction.  Speed limit has been reduced to 55 MPH.

TDOT REGION 4, On-Call Guardrail Repair  Monday September 8 through Saturday September 13, 8:00 p. m.-6:00 a. m.:  There will be night time lane closures at the following locations, to repair damaged guardrail.  THP will assist with traffic control.  Weather Permitting.

  • I-40, Shelby County, eastbound & westbound (MM 8.0 to MM 16.0), one lane will remain open.  This will include a temporary ramp closure on Sycamore View @ I-40 eastbound “On” ramp.
  • I-240, Shelby County, westbound & eastbound (MM 18.0 to MM 28.0), one lane will remain open.
  • SR-385, Shelby County, northbound & southbound, (MM 0.00 to MM 5.0), one lane will remain open.

TDOT REGION 4, On-Call Retracing of Pavement Marking with Paint:  Wednesday September 3 through Wednesday September 10:  There are no scheduled closures.

TDOT REGION 4, Relensing of Snowplowable Markers:  Wednesday September 3 through Wednesday September 10:  There are no scheduled closures.

TDOT MAINTENANCE:
Wednesday September 3
through Wednesday September 10, 9:00 a. m.-4:00 p. m.:  There will be possible lane closures at various locations in Region IV in order to patch potholes on an as needed basis.  Weather Permitting.

WEAKLEY COUNTY, SR-22:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from the ramp from State Route 431 to north of the ramp from State Route 43.

WEAKLEY COUNTY, SR-118:  Resurfacing work will cause temporary lane closures in both directions daily, from the Mud Creek bridge to the Kentucky State Line.
