Thursday, January 08, 2015 | 06:42am

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation will have temporary closures on sections of the interstate system this weekend as crews continue to work on the new east and westbound flyover ramps. This work is part of the I-40/I-240 interchange improvement project. The closures are necessary as crews begin to work on the new deck and continue installing beams over existing roadways.

Saturday, January 10 at 6:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m.
There will be intermittent CLOSURES at the following locations (detours provided):

  • I-240 northbound at the I-40/240 interchange
  • I-240 westbound (flyover) towards Jackson, MS from I-40 westbound
  • Exit Ramps 10B (Sam Cooper Boulevard)
  • Exit 12B (Northbound I-240)

The work is weather dependent.  Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent this work from occurring as scheduled, it will be rescheduled.

Traffic will be encouraged to use SR 385 as an alternate route. Detour maps and information will be provided on the project web site. http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/i40-240memphis/
