MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Tennessee Department of Transportation will have temporary closures on sections of the interstate system this weekend as crews continue to work on the new east and westbound flyover ramps. This work is part of the I-40/I-240 interchange improvement project. The closures are necessary as crews continue installing beams over existing roadways.

Saturday, February 14, 6:00 a.m. through Sunday, February 15, 6:00 p.m.

Saturday, February 21, 6:00 a.m. through Sunday, February 22, 6:00 p.m.

The following will be CLOSED for crews to safely install steel bridge beams:

  • I-40 westbound ramp to Little Rock

The work is weather dependent.  Should inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances prevent this work from occurring as scheduled, it will be rescheduled. Detour maps for the current weekend and information will be provided on the project web site. http://www.tdot.state.tn.us/i40-240memphis/

Due to vertical clearance during the weekends of February 14 and February 21, commercial truck traffic will not be able to maneuver through the designated detour and should use SR 385 as an alternate route.
