Hawkins County Memorial Gardens March 30 Public Meeting, Update

NASHVILLE -  A community meeting will be held at 6 p.m. (EST) on Monday, March 30, 2015 in the Sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Surgoinsville (621 Old Stage Road, Surgoinsville, Tenn. 37873) to provide an update on the Hawkins County Memorial Gardens receivership.

In December 2014, Brentwood-based Receivership Management, Inc. was named special deputy receiver in charge of the operation of the cemetery by Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance Commissioner Julie Mix McPeak.

Representatives of Receivership Management Inc. and the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance will attend the March 30 meeting.

The ownership of grave spaces at Hawkins County Memorial Gardens is still being determined. It is hoped that the receiver can create an inventory of unsold grave spaces and confirm the ownership of grave spaces at the March meeting.
