Tennessee Highway Patrol Announce Road Closures for Governor's Inauguration

NASHVILLE---The Tennessee Highway Patrol today advised the public of planned road closures for Gov. Bill Haslam’s inauguration ceremony on Saturday in downtown Nashville. The public should also plan for road closures throughout the day due to other inauguration festivities.

Downtown road closures will begin on Friday evening and conclude on Saturday night. Citizens are advised to seek alternate routes. 

Road closures are as follows:

Friday, January 16, starting at 7 p.m. - 11:59 p.m.:

  • Broadway Avenue from 2nd Avenue to 1st Avenue (right lane only)
  • Alley behind Acme Feed and Seed from 1st Avenue to 2nd Avenue

Saturday, January 17, 6:30 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.:

  • 4th Avenue (right lane only) from Commerce Street to Broadway Avenue
  • 5th Avenue North from Broadway Avenue to Commerce Street
  • Alley adjacent to the Ryman Auditorium

Saturday, January 17, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m.:

  • Charlotte Avenue from Rosa L. Parks Avenue to 5th Avenue North
  • 7th Avenue from Union Street to Charlotte Avenue

Saturday, January 17, 7 a.m. – 1 p.m.:

  • Deaderick Street from 5th Avenue North to 6th Avenue North
  • Union Street from 6th Avenue to Rosa L. Parks Avenue
  • Capitol Boulevard from Church Street to Union Street
  • 7th Avenue North from Church Street to Union Street (open to business traffic only)
  • 6th Avenue from Charlotte Avenue to Union Street

Saturday, January 17, 4:30 p.m. – 11:59 p.m.:

  • 5th Avenue from Korean Veterans Boulevard to Demonbreun Street
  • 4th Avenue from Demonbreun Street to Korean Veterans Boulevard (right lane only)
  • Korean Veterans Boulevard (right lane) from 4th Avenue to 5th Avenue
