Tennessee Highway Patrol Seeks Public's Assistance in Wilson County Fatal Hit & Run Investigation

NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Criminal Investigation Division (CID) is seeking the public’s help in locating a driver involved in a fatal hit and run crash last Friday in Wilson County.

At approximately 8:40 p.m, on February 27, a 2002  Pontiac Firebird was traveling east on Interstate-40 near mile marker 231 when it was struck by another unknown vehicle that fled the scene. The Firebird lost control and went over the side of the roadway.  The driver, Donald Rogers, 46, of Lebanon was killed in the crash.  His wife was a passenger in the vehicle and sustained injuries.

The THP is looking for a possible suspect vehicle along with any information that will assist investigators. Witnesses described the possible suspect vehicle as follows:

Newer Model Dodge 1500 Crew Cab Truck;
Possibly red in color;
Temporary Tag in back window on driver side;
Traffic cones in bed of truck;
Small construction type light bar on top of truck;
Possible damage to passenger side of truck.
