Tennessee Highway Patrol Interdiction Plus Team Arrest Texas Drug Trafficker in Cocke County

FALL BRANCH - Monday, February 15, Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Fall Branch Interdiction Plus Trooper Sollie Rabun stopped a vehicle on I-40 in Cocke County for a speeding violation.  Trooper Rabun interviewed the driver who showed several indicators of possible criminal activity.  Interdiction Plus Trooper William Connors was requested to assist with his K9 Laky.

Trooper Connors arrived and deployed K9 Laky to walk around the vehicle.  K9 Laky alerted and indicated a positive response for possible drugs being present.  A probable cause search was conducted to the vehicle which revealed four kilos of cocaine, weighing nine pounds, along with $5,660.  

THP Criminal Investigations Division (CID) Sergeant Kevin Kimbrough and Drug Enforcement Agency Task Force Officer (DEA/TFO) Erick Gordon were contacted and responded to the scene.  Javier L. Torres, 28, of Harlingen, Texas was arrested without incident for Felony Cocaine Trafficking.
