Road construction won’t slow motorists across Tennessee over the July 4th holiday. TDOT will suspend all construction-related lane closures on interstates and state routes beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Friday, July 3rd through 6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6th to provide maximum roadway capacity for holiday travelers.

Beginning 6:00 p.m. EDT Friday, June 26, 2020, TDOT contract crews will close a section of Tallant Road near SR 317 (Apison Pike) in Collegedale. The closure is needed to install a new sewer line crossing. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the day Saturday, June 27. Detours will be posted.
Despite altered work procedures designed to increase safety, TDOT is pushing ahead on construction projects across the state. Reduced traffic over the past several weeks has also allowed TDOT crews to perform additional maintenance to interstates and state highways and make solid progress on projects in general across the state.

Starting the evening of June 24, 2020, TDOT contract crews will begin the process of opening all lanes on the newly reconstructed I-440. This milestone comes one month ahead of schedule for the largest project in TDOT history.

Beginning 7:00 p.m. EDT Friday, June 19, 2020, TDOT contract crews will shift traffic on US 27 North to a new alignment between I-24 and the Olgiati Bridge in downtown Chattanooga. This operation is expected to be completed by 7:00 p.m. EDT Saturday, June 20.
