TDOT Weekly Construction Report for Middle Tennessee, December 15-21

DAVIDSON COUNTY, Repair of 6 Bridges at I-440/I-65 Interchange over US31 (SR 6, Franklin Pike)

  • From now through May 2017, There will be lane shifts on I-440 and I-65 at the 440/65 junction to perform deck repairs, expansion joint repairs, and approach slab repairs.
  • Saturday, December 17, 4AM through Sunday December, 18, 8PM, There will be alternating lane closures on I-440E for plate installation. At least one lane will remain open at all times. 
  • Saturday December 17 and Sunday December 18, 5AM-10AM, There will be possible ramp closures on I-440E to I-65N and I-440E to I-65S for plate installation as needed.  

                               

HICKMAN COUNTY, Construction of a Truck Climbing Lane on I-40 Westbound

  • Saturday, December 17, 8AM-12PM, There will be a temporary lane closure on I-40 westbound in order to place base stone.

 

MACON COUNTY, Reconstruction of SR 10 from south of Goose Creek to SR 52

  • From now through December 2016, SR 10 has been reduced to one lane for construction activities. Temporary signals control traffic flow. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.  

 

MAURY COUNTY, Intersection Improvement at the intersection of SR 50 and SR 245

  • Daily through January 2017, There will be lane closures on SR 245 at the intersection of SR 50 for intersection improvements.

 

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, On-call Sign Installation

  • Monday December 19 through Wednesday December 21, 9AM-3PM, There will be a right shoulder closure on I-24 at MM 8 in both directions for sign installation. All travel lanes will remain open.

 

SMITH COUNTY, Bridge Repair on SR 80 over Peyton Creek

  • From now through January 2017, SR 80 will be reduced to one lane at the bridges over Peyton Creek (LM 5.75 and LM 7.00) near Sawmill Lane for bridge repair work. Temporary traffic signals will be in place.

 

SUMNER COUNTY, ITS Expansion on I-65

  • Nightly, 9PM-6AM (excluding weekends), There will be a lane closure on I-65 at MM 101 in both directions to install guardrail.  One lane will remain open. 
  • Thursday, December 15 and Friday, December 16, 9PM-6AM, There will be a right lane closure on I-65 southbound (MM 97, MM 109, and MM 105) for DMS sign installation. At least one lane will remain open. After 11pm there will be two rolling roadblocks, one in each location, for 20 minutes.  

 

SUMNER COUNTY, Miscellaneous safety improvements on SR 109 at the intersection of Old SR 109

  • Nightly, 8PM-6AM (excluding weekends), There will be alternating lane closures on SR 109 for construction operations. At least one lane will remain open.
  • Friday, December 12 through Wednesday, December 21, 8PM-5AM, There will be an intersection crossing closure on Old SR 109 and Scotty Parker Road for safety improvements. Left turns on both Old SR 109 & Scotty Parker Road will not be accessible. One lane of traffic in each direction will remain open.                     

 

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, The grading, drainage, construction of a concrete box bridge, signals & paving on SR 6 serving Mars Petcare in Thompson's Station

  • Daily, 9AM-3PM, There will be alternating lane closures on SR 6 from South of Critz Lane to the Mars Hill entrance for flaggers to aid trucks on and off the roadway.

 

WILSON COUNTY, On-call Concrete Repair on I-40 at MM 239 and MM 236

  • Thursday December 15 through Wednesday December 21, 8AM-3PM, There will be a traffic shift on the on-ramps at MM 239 to allow for saw cutting of the concrete. The ramps will remain open to traffic. There will also be a traffic shift on both the eastbound off ramp and the westbound on ramp at MM 236 to allow for saw cutting and replacing concrete. The ramps will remain open to traffic.

DAVIDSON COUNTY

Thursday December 14 through Wednesday December 21, 9PM-5AM, There will be lane closures on I-40 in both directions at MM 207 and 208 to remove graffiti on the overhead interstate signs. Two lanes will remain open. This closure is weather and temperature dependent.

 

Other

 

RUTHERFORD COUNTY

LaVergne PD will have a rolling road block on December 16 and 19 between 1-4 PM on I-24 for nearby construction activities.

 

Motorists are encouraged to use caution and obey reduced speed limits in all TDOT work zones, regardless of lane closure activity.  Information in this report is provided to the Department of Transportation by the contractors.  Most work is weather dependent and subject to change due to inclement weather.
