Lane Closures Scheduled This Weekend on I-40 East in Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will close multiple lanes on Interstate 40 East over Hollywood Drive in Knox County this weekend for bridge deck repairs. The work is scheduled as follows.

  • Friday, April 1 at 7:00 p.m. through Monday, April 4 at 6:00 a.m. - I-40 East will be reduced from 5 lanes to 2 lanes from east of Papermill Drive (mile marker 383) to west of the Hollywood Drive bridge before the I-640 interchange (mile marker 385).

This operation could create lengthy delays for traffic on I-40 East. Message boards are in place to alert motorists to the road closures. Drivers are advised to plan ahead and utilize alternate routes if desired.
