Temporary Closure Planned for SR 128 in Hardin County

JACKSON, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will temporarily close a short section of State Route 128 in Savannah, Hardin County, in order to safely excavate and replace a pre-cast box culvert. The work is scheduled as follows.

  • Beginning Tuesday, July 5 at 7:00 a.m. - SR 128 between Water Street and Malcomb Street will be CLOSED.

The scheduled work and closure will last approximately 10 to 14 days. During that time, all traffic will be detoured. Message boards will be posted to alert motorists to the road closures. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and seek alternate routes.

The work is part of the widening project that will expand a two-mile section of SR 128 from two to five lanes. The $21.2 million project is expected to be finished in May 2018.
