MLK Boulevard On-Ramp to U.S. 27 North to be Closed for Three Months in Chattanooga, Hamilton County

Chattanooga, Tenn. – To expedite the latest phase of the U.S. 27 reconstruction project, TDOT contract crews must close the on‑ramp from eastbound MLK Boulevard to U.S. 27 North for approximately three months.  The ramp closure will be in effect beginning Saturday, September 10, 2016 and last until the work is completed in December 2016.  By totally closing the ramp, this phase of work can be completed in three months instead of twelve months and lessen the overall impact to motorists.

To aid in moving traffic while the ramp is closed, the contractor will construct a temporary left turn lane on eastbound MLK Boulevard to allow traffic to access the alternate on-ramp to U.S. 27 North.
