CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard: As grade work progresses, motorists should be alert for shifts in traffic patterns to allow for construction activities. Current activities include paving activities, utility relocation, grade work, storm drain, base stone, and curb and gutter. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed to support ongoing work. Motorists should reduce speeds on Peavine Road and be alert for construction personnel and equipment entering and exiting the roadway. Estimated project completion date is November 2020. |
CUMBERLAND COUNTY US-127 (SR-28) from Plateau Road (LM 22.68) to the bridge over Clear Creek (LM 30.50) and SR-298 from north of Redmond Lane (LM 6.75) to south of Roy McCoy Road (LM 12.38) resurfacing (microsurfacing): Contractor will be completing punch list items and may require temporary lane closures. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
CUMBERLAND AND PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 resurfacing from Putnam County line to near the parking area, and from west of Exit 300 to the Cumberland County line: Contractor will be completing punchlist items. No lane closures are expected. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
CUMBERLAND AND RHEA COUNTY The resurfacing (microsurfacing) on SR-68 from west of Wiley Ford Road (LM 5.23) to the Rhea County line (LM 12.55) and on SR-68 from the Cumberland County line (LM 0.00) to north of Possum Trot Road (LM 3.42): Contractor will be completing punchlist items. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
DEKALB COUNTY The resurfacing (microsurfacing) on SR-83 from SR-146 (LM 0.00) to SR-56 (LM 7.83): Contractor is currently working on safety improvements along SR-83 this week. Motorists should expect temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages during this time. Flaggers will be present to assist with traffic control as needed. Motorists are advised to observe the posted speed limits when entering the work zone, and to be alert of all construction personnel, equipment and vehicles. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
FENTRESS COUNTY SR-28 Construction of an acceleration lane (LM 21) and safety improvements near the Jamestown City limits (LM 20.78) to the Pickett County line (LM 33.58): Contractor is scheduled to complete guardrail installation on SR 28 between LM 20.78 and 33.58 this week. Contractor will use flaggers and shut SR 28 down to one lane to complete this work. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
FENTRESS COUNTY SR-297 resurfacing (microsurfacing): Contractor is scheduled to be onsite placing construction signs beginning week of 10/15/18. Contractor will begin scrub seal operations week of 10/15 after construction signs are placed. Lane closures will be used for this work and motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit and watch for construction equipment in roadway. RESTRICTIONS: Loads wider than 10' should seek alternate route. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
FENTRESS COUNTY SR-52 resurfacing from east of the Obey River (LM 5.48) to west of SR-154 (LM 11.00): Contractor will be placing construction signs this week in preparation for paving operations to begin week of 10/24. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
FENTRESS AND OVERTON COUNTY Resurfacing: SR-85 from west of SR-164 (LM 22.00) to west of Old Grimsley Road AND SR-164 from south of Roger Norrod Lane (LM 8.72) to SR-85 (LM 13.72): Contractor has completed paving operations. Contractor may be on site intermittently to complete work. Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit and watch for construction equipment in roadway. JACKSON COUNTY SR-290 resurfacing from SR-53 (LM 0.00) to SR-56 (LM 10.60): This project is complete and the final inspection has been conducted. Intermittent lane closures may be used to allow contractor to address punchlist items. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
JACKSON COUNTY SR-56 Resurfacing from SR-53 (LM 10.94) to near bridge over Germany Branch (LM 17.75): Contractor will be performing paving operations. Lane closures will be utilized to facilitate this work. Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit and watch for construction equipment and personnel in roadway. RESTRICTIONS: Loads wider than 10' should seek alternate route. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
OVERTON COUNTY SR-136 Resurfacing from SR-85 (LM 9.21) to SR-52 (LM 16.6): Project is complete. All punch list items have been addressed/repaired. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
OVERTON COUNTY SR-52 grading, drainage, signals and paving from near Oakley-Allons Road (LM 6.58) to SR-111 (LM 10.23): Contractor will be on site to perform miscellaneous work as required to complete project. Shoulder closures may be used to accommodate this work. Motorists should obey speed limit and watch for construction equipment. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
PUTNAM COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-135 (N. WILLOW AVE.) southbound from LM 10.52 to LM 10.62: TDOT Maintenance will be working on a catchbasin on SR-135 N Willow Ave in the southbound lane. The lane will be closed from LM 10.52 to LM 10.62 at 7 AM Monday 10/15/18 through 6 PM Tuesday 10/16/18. |

PUTNAM COUNTY SR-135 resurfacing from south of Jackson Street (LM 9.75) to north of SR-290 (LM 11.64): The contractor is currently working to complete punchlist items. The contractor will utilize temporary nighttime lane closures in one or both directions during this time. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. WHITE COUNTY The resurfacing on US-70 (SR-1) from LM 7.69 to LM 10.61; US-70 (SR-26) from LM 9.82 to LM 10.79; and SR-84 from US-70 (SR-1) LM 0.00 to LM 0.12: Contractor is currently replacing sidewalk along SR-1, and resurfacing throughout the project. Motorists should expect temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages during this time. Flaggers will be present to assist with traffic control as needed. Motorists are advised to observe the posted speed limits when entering the work zone, and to be alert of all construction personnel, equipment and vehicles. WHITE COUNTY US-70 (SR-26) intersection improvements at SR-111 in Sparta: The contractor will be installing vehicle detection wires in the roadway on SR-26 near the SR-111 Northbound off-ramp. This will result in temporary lane closures on SR-26 Eastbound and Westbound and on the SR-111 Northbound off-ramp. Motorists should be use caution around all construction equipment and personnel. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |

COFFEE AND WARREN COUNTY SR-55 Resurfacing from north of Interstate Drive (LM 15.32) to north of Swan Road (LM 19.28): The contractor will be milling the existing surface and resurfacing when milling is completed. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution. There will be temporary lane closures in both directions. Work will take place during the day between the hours of 6:30AM and 7:30PM. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-127 the construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over the Elk River (LM 6.21), including grading, drainage and paving: Work on this project continues. RESTRICTIONS: Bridge will be reduced to one 10.5’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-476 bridge repair over the Elk River (LM 3.39) and Hurricane Creek (LM 7.40): Work continues on this project. The bridge is down to one lane and controlled with a traffic signal. RESTRICTIONS: The bridge is reduced to one 9’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice. Estimated project completion date is December 2018. |
FRANKLIN COUNTY US-64BR (SR-15) resurfacing from US-41A (SR-16) (LM 13.7) to west of Money Lane (LM 18.3): Progress work on this project will continue Monday thru Saturday 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM, weather permitting. The contractor may have lane closures in order to perform the necessary work. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and workers. Safety personnel will be present. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
GRUNDY COUNTY SR-50 slide repair at log mile 9.9: Slide repair is underway on SR-50, in Grundy County from the 9.4 MM to the 10.0 MM. The roadway is reduced to one lane. Temporary traffic lights are controlling traffic. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
GRUNDY COUNTY SR-108 resurfacing from SR-56 (LM 12.02) to west of Eagle Lake Road (LM 15.00), including addition of a turn lane: The contractor will be constructing an additional turning lane and resurfacing SR 108 at this location. SR 108 will be reduced to one lane controlled by a flagging operation when workers are present. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
MARION COUNTY I-24 miscellaneous safety improvements from SR-156 (MM 161) to the Georgia State line (MM 167): Beginning August 19 and continuing through October 31st, the Contractor will be working on I24 East bound and West bound between the Tennessee Line in Hamilton County and Exit 161 in Marion County. The work will be conducted from Sunday night through Friday morning starting at 8PM Central and ending at 5AM Central Time each morning. The contractor will have intermittent lane closures throughout the night as they delineate the guardrail and install new signs. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
MARION COUNTY I-24 WB resurfacing from the Grundy County line (MM 127) to east of the bridge over Cave Cove Creek (MM 134): During this report period this project will remain idle until Sunday 10/14/18. The contractor will begin installing high friction surface treatment from Sunday 10/14/18 through Tuesday 10/16/18 between the hours of 7PM to 6AM. Beginning Wednesday 10/17/18 through Friday 10/19/18 the contractor will continue the installation of the high friction surface treatment between the hours of 7AM to 6PM. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution. Law Enforcement and Safety Personnel will be present. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
MARION COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-156 (STATE HWY. 156) both directions from LM 14.2 to LM 15.0: Marion County, SR 156, Both Directions, Bridge repair from 14.2 MM-15.0 MM causing the outside shoulder to be closed from 7 AM- 4:30 PM, October 11-October 17, 2018. |
MARION COUNTY SR-156 over Running Water Creek (LM 25.58) bridge rehabilitation: SR-156 is reduced to one lane across Running Water Creek Bridge and controlled with a temporary traffic signal while the bridge is repaired. From September 24th through October 12th The contractor will have intermittent lane closures of the one travel lane from 15 to 30 minutes at a time to remove material from the bridge. Estimated project completion date is October 2019. |
SEQUATCHIE COUNTY US-127 (SR-8) resurfacing from the Hamilton County line (LM 0.00) to north of Progress Drive (LM 5.22): Punch list items remaining. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
WARREN COUNTY SR-288 construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving: The bridge is currently reduced to one 12-ft. lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: Reduced to one 12-ft lane. |
WARREN COUNTY SR-8 over Collins River (LM 8.14) Bridge Repair: The bridge is currently reduced to one 11-ft. lane to allow the contractor to repair the existing bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: One 11-foot lane. Estimated project completion date is August 2019. |

BRADLEY COUNTY SR-2 resurfacing on U.S. 11 from near Anatole Lane (LM 15.15) to south of Old Highway 11 (LM 18.20): The contractor will have one lane closed to work on the shoulder stone. They will be working between 8:30PM - 2:30PM on Thursday of this reporting period. The pavement markings will be worked on at night from 8PM-6 AM. THP will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
HAMILTON COUNTY I-24 East and West drainage improvement from MM 173 to 175: The drainage improvement project at Exit 174 is underway. On Monday evening 10/15/18, the right lane of I-24 East near Exit 174 in the Lookout Valley community will be closed beginning at 9PM and ending before 6AM to allow the contractor to extend the guardrail. There will be lane closures along US-41 in the vicinity of the interchange. Ramps will remain open but could be subject to width and lane restrictions. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 North Exit 1 interchange reconfiguration project at mile marker 1: Work on this project continues. There is now only one exit ramp that allows drivers to turn both east and west on Ringgold Road at a signalized intersection. Traffic has been shifted onto the newly constructed portion of Camp Jordan Pkwy., and the intersection (I-75 NB off-ramp and SR-8/Camp Jordan Pkwy.) is now controlled by a traffic signal. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge: Work on this project continues with numerous activities occurring in the median of US-27. Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and leaving the left traffic lane in both the northbound and southbound directions. The 12th Street tie-in ramp to US-27 South has been temporarily closed. This closure will be in place until further notice. Detours are posted. Motorists should pay close attention to the detour signage posted. The speed limit on US-27 in the construction zone remains 45 MPH. Weather permitting, the contractor may implement temporary lane/shoulder closures on weeknights between the hours of 7 PM and 6 AM. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on US-27. Beginning on Thursday night 10/11/18 a temporary left lane closure will be in place for Northbound US27 from I24 to the Olgiati Bridge for modification the existing barrier rail and repaving of the northbound lanes between W. 6th St. and W. 4th street. The shifting of traffic lanes will be required to accomplish the work. These lane closures and related work will continue on Friday night 10/12/18 and then again on Monday night 10/15/18 through Wednesday night 10/17/18. All work will be performed between the hours on 7PM and 6AM. Estimated project completion date is January 2020. |
HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Contractor on I-24 both directions from MM 5.0 to MM 6.5: A contractor from Arcadis will be performing an ACM inspection on the I24 bridges over Lookout Creek at LM 5.33 and over Chattanooga Creek LM 6.19 from Tuesday, 10/9/18 – Thursday 10/18/18. The right shoulder and through lane will be closed. |
HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Contractor on I-24 eastbound at MM 178.6: TDOT contract crews will have temporary lane closures this weekend on I 24 East on the bridge over Chestnut Street at mile marker 178.6 near the US-27 interchange in Chattanooga to replace deteriorating skid-resistant surface on the bridge. The work will begin at 9 PM EDT on Friday evening 10/12/18 and be completed by 2 PM EDT on Saturday 10/13/18. One lane of traffic will remain open on the bridge at all times during this work. |
HAMILTON COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on SR-29 (US-27) both directions from LM 20.57 to LM 20.57: Bridge Inspection will be performing its two year inspection on SR29 over Soddy Creek at LM 20.57 from 9:00AM – 4:00PM Monday 10/15/2018. The right shoulder and travel lane will be closed – northbound (southbound scheduled, but only if needed). |
HAMILTON COUNTY US-127 (SR-8) slope repair of Signal Mountain Blvd. at log mile 15.9: During this report period, the contractor will have one lane closed while performing slope stabilization operations. Temporary traffic signals are in place on either end of the project to control traffic. Additionally the speed limit has been lowered to 20 MPH in the construction zone. This will involve both NB & SB lane closures on SR153 on Friday (8 PM - 6AM), Saturday & Sunday (5PM - 6AM) & Monday - Wednesday (8 PM - 6 AM). Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
HAMILTON COUNTY cleaning of the McCallie Tunnel on US-11 (US-64, SR-2), the Stringers Ridge Tunnel on US-127 (SR-8), and the Bachman Tubes on US-41 (US-76, SR-8): The McCallie Tunnel will be closed for cleaning on Wednesday, 10/17/18 (8 PM to 6 AM). This will involve a flagging operation, with one way traffic. Also, the Stringers Ridge tunnel will be cleaned 10/17/18 (8 PM to 6 AM). Bachman Tubes will be cleaned on 10/18/18 (8 PM to 6 AM). Both the Stringer's Ridge and the Bachman Tube cleaning will have a signed detour to direct traffic Estimated project completion date is June 2019. |
HAMILTON COUNTY SR-320 (East Brainerd Road) grading, drainage, installation of signals, construction of seven retaining walls and paving from east of Graysville Road to east of Bel-Air Road: During this report period, the contractor will have intermittent lane closures between 9AM-2PM. This work may affect either direction of East Brainerd Road or side streets from Graysville Road to Bel-Air Road. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. HAMILTON COUNTY US-11/64 SR-2 (Brainerd Rd./Lee Hwy.) resurfacing from east of Moore Road (LM 13.85) to east of Airport Road (LM 15.84): The contractor has begun milling & paving operations and will have intermittent lane closures for resurfacing operations Sunday through Thursday from 8PM to 6AM. MCMINN COUNTY SR-30, grading, drainage and paving on SR-30 from Jackson Street to east of Knight Road in Athens: Traffic along SR-30 through the project's length has been restricted to one lane in each direction with turning lanes provided at critical intersections and business access. This phase one construction activity has all traffic on the previous westbound side of SR-30. All businesses are provided with accessibility. Estimated project completion date is October 2019. |

MCMINN COUNTY SR-305 resurfacing from west of US-11 (SR-2) (LM 2.86) to west of I-75 (LM 5.00): For this reporting period, Thursday-Friday, There will be a lane closed in either direction as the contractor works on SR305. On Monday thru Wednesday of this reporting period, the contractor will be working at night at the I-75 on and off ramps. They will be working from 7 PM- 6 AM and there will be THP at these ramps to help with traffic. On Monday night, weather permitting, the I-75 on-ramp at exit 52 will be closed to traffic from 7 PM-6 AM. On Tuesday night, the I-75 Southbound off ramp at Exit 52 will be closed from 7 PM-6AM. Drivers will have to use either Exit 56 or Exit 49 to get on SR305. On Wednesday night, the Southbound On-ramp on SR305 will be closed from 7 PM-6 AM. Drivers will have to get on I-75 at either Exit 49 on SR30 or SR309 and Exit 56. Drivers are advised to avoid these areas while work is going on. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
POLK COUNTY SR-30 resurfacing from US-411 (SR-33) (LM 2.65) to west of Tellico Reliance Road (LM 8.00): Milling will start on 10/15/18. Traffic will be controlled with flaggers. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
POLK COUNTY US-64 (SR-40) construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Branch and TOHA Old Line railroad (LM 24.85), including grading, drainage and paving: The contractor has cut the embankment for the retaining wall. The Pinecrest Road intersection has been closed. There are posted detour signs for residents to get to their homes on Pinecrest Road. This road will be closed during the duration of the construction of the Retaining Wall on US64. There will be intermittent lane closures on the project as trucks will be entering the road and the contractor will be working on utility lines that cross US64. Estimated project completion date is May 2019. |
RHEA COUNTY SR-29 Improvement at Cawood Road (LM 27.3) including grading, drainage, and paving; resurfacing from south of Vanns Creek Road/Hoyal Road (LM 23.4) to north of Haskel Road (LM 25.3): Work has begun on this project involving shoulder closures and slight lane reductions through the Cawood Rd. intersection (LM 27.3)on both SB & NB US 27. Additionally, paving activities will require lane closures through a two mile section of US 27 (NB & SB, LM 23 - LM 26). Both the intersection work and paving activity involves daytime construction. REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance drainage work: There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to clean rock and debris from ditches on an as-needed basis. One lane will be maintained at all times. |
REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance mowing and brush removal: There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to perform contract mowing and brush removal on an as-needed basis. In addition to performing the work, regional Operations crews will also provide traffic control. |
REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance pothole repair and pavement patching: There will be possible short-term emergency lane closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to repair potholes and patch pavement on an as-needed basis. Depending on location and severity these repairs may be done during the day or at night. In addition to performing the work, regional Operations crews will also provide traffic control. |
REGION 2 on-call cable barrier repair on various interstate and state routes: The contractor may have short term shoulder closures in order to perform cable rail repair. Both travel lanes will remain open to traffic at all times on the Interstate during any work that is performed. Estimated project completion date is December 2018. |
REGION 2 on-call guardrail repair and new guardrail installation on various interstate and state routes: The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform guardrail repair. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly from 7PM to 6AM Sundays through Thursdays and daily on State Routes. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times on the Interstate, and flaggers will be present on State Routes during any work that is performed. Estimated project completion date is June 2019. |
REGION 2 preventative and unscheduled maintenance of Chattanooga SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System: The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform preventative or unscheduled maintenance to the local SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System. Work hours are 9AM to 3:30PM. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is October 2019. |
REGION 2 sweeping and drain cleaning on various interstate and state routes: There will be mobile lane closures supporting a sweeping operation along regional interstates and highways through this reporting period. Additionally, there could be a drain cleaning operation requiring lane closures along I-40 in Putnam county (MM 267 -MM 274 & MM 295 - MM 297) on Thursday, 10/11. Both the sweeping & drain cleaning activities will happen Sunday - Thursday (8PM - 6AM). Estimated project completion date is February 2019. |

REGION 2 the random on-call pavement marking and the retracing of pavement markings with spray thermoplastic on various Interstate and State Routes: Work will continue on pavement markings with lane closures intermittently weather permitting. Estimated project completion date is June 2019. |
REGION 2 The relensing of snowplowable pavement markers on various Interstate and State Routes: The contractor will be back to work in this reporting period on Monday night. They plan to work in Hamilton County on SR58, SR153, SR148, SR318, SR319. The contractor will be working at night on these roads. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
REGION 2 The retracing of painted pavement marking lines on various Interstate and State Routes: The contractor will retrace existing roadway striping in Franklin, Grundy, and Coffee Counties, resulting in temporary lane closures each day. This will include the following route in Franklin County: SR-127; the following routes in Grundy County: SR-2 (US-41), SR-56, SR-108, and SR-50; and the following route in Coffee County: SR-127. Motorists should use caution around construction equipment and pay attention to all construction signage. Estimated project completion date is October 2018. |
