DISTRICT 27 |
CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard: As grade work progresses, motorists should be alert for shifts in traffic patterns to allow for construction activities. Current activities include paving activities, utility relocation, grade work, storm drain, base stone, and curb and gutter. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed to support ongoing work. Motorists should reduce speeds on Peavine Road and be alert for construction personnel and equipment entering and exiting the roadway. Estimated project completion date is November 2020. |
FENTRESS COUNTY SR-52 resurfacing from east of the Obey River (LM 5.48) to west of SR-154 (LM 11.00): Contractor has scheduled paving operations for this week, weather permitting. Contractor will have roadway shut down to one lane and will use flagging operation to facilitate the flow of traffic through the work zone. Motorists should obey posted speed limit and watch for construction operations in the roadway. RESTRICTIONS: Loads wider than 10' should seek alternate route. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
FENTRESS AND OVERTON COUNTY Resurfacing: SR-85 from west of SR-164 (LM 22.00) to west of Old Grimsley Road AND SR-164 from south of Roger Norrod Lane (LM 8.72) to SR-85 (LM 13.72): Contractor has completed paving operations. Contractor may be on site intermittently to complete work. Motorists are encouraged to obey posted speed limit and watch for construction equipment in roadway. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
OVERTON COUNTY SR-52 grading, drainage, signals and paving from near Oakley-Allons Road (LM 6.58) to SR-111 (LM 10.23): Contractor will be on site to perform miscellaneous work as required to complete project. Shoulder closures may be used to accommodate this work. Motorists should obey speed limit and watch for construction equipment. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 interchange lighting at the junction of Mine Lick Creek Road (LM 15.56): Contractor is installing pole foundations and trenching conduit throughout project. Motorists should expect temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages during this time. Estimated project completion date is April 2019. |
PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-24 (E. SPRING ST.) eastbound from LM 19.72 to LM 19.98: Lane Closure with signage and flagger support for sewer and water repairs between E. Broad St. and Crockett Ave. From 11/15/18 to 11/21/18 between 9am and 3pm |
PUTNAM COUNTY SR-62 resurfacing from east of Meadow Creek bridge (LM 5.28) to the Fentress County line (LM 10.40) and on SR-84 from the White County line (LM 0.00) to north of Henry Cemetery Road (LM 6.11): Contractor scheduled to install pavement markings this week. Contractor will use mobile or flagging operations to maintain one lane during construction. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
PUTNAM AND OVERTON COUNTY SR-136 resurfacing from Bear Creek Road in Putnam County (LM 8.98), through Overton County and back into Putnam County to the Overton County line (LM 1.36): The contractor will be installing pavement markings throughout the project during daytime hours. This will result in mobile lane closures. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and workers. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
WHITE COUNTY SR-111 resurfacing from the Van Buren County line (LM 0.00) to Shady Oak Road (LM 4.20).: The contractor will be resurfacing throughout the project. This will result in temporary lane closures both directions during daytime hours. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
WHITE COUNTY The resurfacing on US-70 (SR-1) from LM 7.69 to LM 10.61; US-70 (SR-26) from LM 9.82 to LM 10.79; and SR-84 from US-70 (SR-1) LM 0.00 to LM 0.12: Contractor is currently adjusting utilities, placing topsoil, and installing pavement markings throughout the project. Motorists should expect temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages during this time. Motorists are advised to observe the posted speed limits when entering the work zone, and to be alert of all construction personnel, equipment and vehicles. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |

BLEDSOE COUNTY SR-101 bridge repair over Bee Creek (LM 8.98): Work on this project is underway. For the safety of the traveling public, the bridge will be reduced to one lane and controlled with temporary signals. Estimated project completion date is September 2019. |
COFFEE AND WARREN COUNTY SR-55 Resurfacing from north of Interstate Drive (LM 15.32) to north of Swan Road (LM 19.28): The contractor will be milling the existing surface and resurfacing when milling is completed. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution. There will be temporary lane closures in both directions. Work will take place during the day between the hours of 6:30AM and 7:30PM. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-127 the construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over the Elk River (LM 6.21), including grading, drainage and paving: Work on this project continues. RESTRICTIONS: Bridge will be reduced to one 10.5’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice. Estimated project completion date is December 2018. |
FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-476 bridge repair over the Elk River (LM 3.39) and Hurricane Creek (LM 7.40): Work continues on this project. The bridge is down to one lane and controlled with a traffic signal. RESTRICTIONS: The bridge is reduced to one 9’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice. Estimated project completion date is December 2018. |
FRANKLIN COUNTY US-64BR (SR-15) resurfacing from US-41A (SR-16) (LM 13.7) to west of Money Lane (LM 18.3): Progress work on this project are in the final stages but will continue Monday thru Saturday 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM, weather permitting. The contractor may have lane closures in order to perform the necessary work. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and workers. Safety personnel will be present. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
FRANKLIN AND MARION COUNTY SR-156 Resurfacing from the Marion County line (LM 0) to the Marion County line (LM 2.05), from the Franklin County line (LM 0) to west of Frank Bolton Road (LM 3.06): Work on this project will continue daily 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM, weather permitting. The contractor will continue the resurfacing operations for the remainder of the project followed by the installation of thermoplastic pavement marking and Rumble Strips. The contractor may have lane closures in order to perform the necessary work. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and workers. Safety personnel will be present. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
GRUNDY COUNTY SR-108 resurfacing from SR-56 (LM 12.02) to west of Eagle Lake Road (LM 15.00), including addition of a turn lane: Contractor will be onsite working on punch list. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
MARION COUNTY I-24 WB resurfacing from the Grundy County line (MM 127) to east of the bridge over Cave Cove Creek (MM 134): This project is complete and the final inspection has been conducted. Intermittent lane and or ramp closures may be used to allow contractor to address punch list items. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
MARION COUNTY SR-156 over Running Water Creek (LM 25.58) bridge rehabilitation: SR-156 is reduced to one lane across Running Water Creek Bridge and controlled with a temporary traffic signal while the bridge is repaired. Estimated project completion date is October 2019. |
SEQUATCHIE COUNTY US-127 (SR-8) resurfacing from the Hamilton County line (LM 0.00) to north of Progress Drive (LM 5.22): Contractor will be onsite working on punch list. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
WARREN COUNTY SR-288 construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving: The bridge is currently reduced to one 12-ft. lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: Reduced to one 12-ft lane. |
WARREN COUNTY SR-8 over Collins River (LM 8.14) Bridge Repair: The bridge is currently reduced to one 11-ft. lane to allow the contractor to repair the existing bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: One 11-foot lane. Estimated project completion date is August 2019. |

BRADLEY COUNTY Utility Work on SR-74 (OCOEE ST. N.E.) southbound from LM 14.31 to LM 14.54: Aerial utility work between Billy Graham Blvd. NE and Bowman Ave. NW. Signs and flaggers will be used on two lane section of the road. From: 11/8/18 To: 11/21/18 Between 9am and 3pm |
BRADLEY AND MCMINN COUNTY SR-312 (Bradley Co.) misc. safety improvements from the Hamilton Co. Line (LM 0.00) to Quill Dr. (LM 5.27); US-11 (SR-2) (McMinn Co.) misc. safety improvements from Sanford Rd. (LM 4.05) to Chapel Rd. (LM 12.32): Work on this project is underway. The contractor will work in Bradley County during this report period. There will be intermittent lane closures. Flaggers will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is June 2019. |
HAMILTON COUNTY I-24 East and West drainage improvement from MM 173 to MM 175: The drainage improvement project at Exit 174 is underway. There will be lane closures along US-41 in the vicinity of the interchange. Ramps will remain open but could be subject to width and lane restrictions. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge: Work on this project continues with activities occurring on the west side of southbound US-27. Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and leaving the area, pay close attention to all detour routes and obey the posted speed limits. The 12th Street tie-in ramp to US-27 South and , the ramp from W. Main St. to US-27 South have been temporarily closed and will remain so until further notice with posted detours. Weather permitting, the contractor may implement temporary lane/shoulder closures on weeknights between the hours of 7PM and 6AM. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on US-27. On Thursday night 11/15/18 and Friday night 11/16/18 between 7PM and 6AM, M. L. King Blvd. will be temporarily closed between Pine St. and Gateway Ave. for removal of the existing bridge spans. Additional closures will include the ramps in the vicinity. Detours will be posted. On Sunday night 11/18/18, Monday night 11/19/18 and Tuesday night 11/20/18 between 7PM and 6AM, M. L. King Blvd. between US-27 and Gateway Ave. will be temporarily closed for drainage structure work. Additional closures will include the ramps in the vicinity. Detours will be posted. On Monday night 11/19/18 from 7PM to 6AM a temporary right lane closure will be in place from I-24 to M. L. King Blvd. for repairing and replacing guardrail. HAMILTON COUNTY US-127 (SR-8) slope repair of Signal Mountain Blvd. at log mile 16.05: During this report period, the contractor will have one lane closed while performing slope stabilization operations. Temporary traffic signals are in place on either end of the project to control traffic. Additional flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is December 2018. |
HAMILTON COUNTY SR-153 resurfacing from I-75 (LM 0.00) to Shallowford Road (LM 2.60), including bridge deck repair: This project could involve daytime lane closures to support the project activities. This will involve both NB & SB lane closures on SR-153, M-F (9 AM to 3 PM). Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
HAMILTON COUNTY SR-320 (East Brainerd Road) grading, drainage, installation of signals, construction of seven retaining walls and paving from east of Graysville Road to east of Bel-Air Road: During this report period, the contractor will have intermittent lane closures between 9AM-2PM. This work may affect either direction of East Brainerd Road or side streets from Graysville Road to Hamlet Drive. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
HAMILTON COUNTY SR-58 miscellaneous safety improvements at the intersection of SR-312 (Birchwood Pike) (LM 15.70): Contractor will be completing various safety improvements at the intersection of SR-58 & Birchwood Pike. No southbound traffic restrictions will be allowed between 5 AM and 9 AM. No northbound traffic restrictions will be allowed between 3 PM and 6 PM. Work will be allowed on Saturdays but flagging personnel will be present to ensure continued traffic flow. Estimated project completion date is April 2019. |
HAMILTON COUNTY US-11/64 SR-2 (Brainerd Rd./Lee Hwy.) resurfacing from east of Moore Road (LM 13.85) to east of Airport Road (LM 15.84): During this report period, the contractor will have intermittent lane closures for resurfacing operations from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additionally the contractor might have intermittent lane restrictions while adjusting utility manhole covers, this operation will take place Monday thru Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This work may affect either direction of SR-2 (Brainerd Road/Lee Highway) and between Moore Rd & Airport Rd. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-27 (MARKET ST.) both directions from LM 4.43 to LM 4.43: Intersection of Market Street and King Street/West 13th Street, one lane to remain open to NB and SB traffic for duration of project, 10/18/18 to 12/18/18 from 6AM to 6PM. Signage and flaggers will be used as needed. Estimated project completion date is January 2019. |
MCMINN COUNTY SR-30, grading, drainage and paving on SR-30 from Jackson Street to east of Knight Road in Athens: Traffic along SR-30 through the project's length has been restricted to one lane in each direction with turning lanes provided at critical intersections and business access. This phase one construction activity has all traffic on the previous westbound side of SR-30. All businesses are provided with accessibility. Estimated project completion date is October 2019. |
MCMINN COUNTY SR-305 resurfacing from west of US-11 (SR-2) (LM 2.86) to west of I-75 (LM 5.00): The contractor will have a lane closed with flaggers directing traffic as they work. Traveling public is advised to be aware of the flaggers on the project. Estimated project completion date is December 2018. |
POLK COUNTY SR-30 resurfacing from US-411 (SR-33) (LM 2.65) to west of Tellico Reliance Road (LM 8.00): The contractor will have lane closures on this project during work. They will have pilot car directing traffic and also flaggers to help with traffic. The contractor will be working on the pavement markings, guardrail, and snowplowable markings. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
POLK COUNTY US-64 (SR-40) construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Branch and TOHA Old Line railroad (LM 24.85), including grading, drainage and paving: The contractor has shifted traffic onto the new bridge. There will be intermittent lane closures as the contractor continues to work on the retaining wall. Estimated project completion date is May 2019. |
RHEA COUNTY SR-29 Improvement at Cawood Road (LM 27.3) including grading, drainage, and paving; resurfacing from south of Vanns Creek Road/Hoyal Road (LM 23.4) to north of Haskel Road (LM 25.3): There will be day time lane closure (Monday - Saturday) to support paving activities through the project limits. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance drainage work: There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to clean rock and debris from ditches on an as-needed basis. One lane will be maintained at all times. |
REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance mowing and brush removal: There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to perform contract mowing and brush removal on an as-needed basis. In addition to performing the work, regional Operations crews will also provide traffic control. |
REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance pothole repair and pavement patching: There will be possible short-term emergency lane closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to repair potholes and patch pavement on an as-needed basis. Depending on location and severity these repairs may be done during the day or at night. In addition to performing the work, regional Operations crews will also provide traffic control. |
REGION 2 on-call cable barrier repair on various interstate and state routes: The contractor may have short term shoulder closures in order to perform cable rail repair. Both travel lanes will remain open to traffic at all times on the Interstate during any work that is performed. Estimated project completion date is December 2018. |
REGION 2 on-call guardrail repair and new guardrail installation on various interstate and state routes: The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform guardrail repair. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly from 7PM to 6AM Sundays through Thursdays and daily on State Routes. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times on the Interstate, and flaggers will be present on State Routes during any work that is performed. Estimated project completion date is June 2019. |
REGION 2 preventative and unscheduled maintenance of Chattanooga SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System: The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform preventative or unscheduled maintenance to the local SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System. Work hours are 9AM to 3:30PM. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is October 2019. |
REGION 2 sweeping and drain cleaning on various interstate and state routes: There will be mobile lane closures supporting a sweeping operation along regional interstates and highways through this reporting period. The sweeping activity will happen Sunday - Thursday (8PM - 6AM). Estimated project completion date is February 2019. |
REGION 2 On-call concrete pavement repair: During the week the contractor will be working on I-24 Exit 175 ramps repairing concrete. On Friday November 16th at 8 PM ET through Monday November 19th until 6 AM ET Vulcan Materials Company will be repairing concrete pavement on I-75 Northbound from MM 7.8 to MM 8.2 in lane #2. They will be removing and repairing concrete pavement. From Friday night through Monday morning lanes number 1 and number 2 will be closed, leaving 2 lanes open to traffic. The lanes will be opened back up no later than 6 AM ET on Monday. Tennessee Highway Patrol and a truck mounted attenuator w/ message board will be on site during the project. Estimated project completion date is March 2019. |
REGION 2 The relensing of snowplowable pavement markers on various Interstate and State Routes: The contractor will be having intermittent lane closures on I-24, I-75, and US-29 in Hamilton, Bradley, and McMinn County starting on Thursday of this reporting period. The work will start around 7PM and last to 6AM. This will be a moving operation with THP assisting with traffic control. In Hamilton County parts of I-24, I-75, US-29, and SR-153, where there is 6 lanes or more, the contractor will have 2 lanes closed as they work on the middle and left lanes. They will try to do these areas during the weeknight if possible with a slight chance during the weekend. Estimated project completion date is November 2018. |
