Special Note:  For the Thanksgiving holiday, TDOT will halt all lane closure activity on interstates and state highways in anticipation of higher traffic volumes across the state. All construction-related lane closures will be stopped beginning at noon on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 through 6:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2018.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard:   As grade work progresses, motorists should be alert for shifts in traffic patterns to allow for construction activities. Current activities include paving activities, utility relocation, grade work, storm drain, base stone, and curb and gutter. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed to support ongoing work. Motorists should reduce speeds on Peavine Road and be alert for construction personnel and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is November 2020.

FENTRESS COUNTY SR-52 resurfacing from east of the Obey River (LM 5.48) to west of SR-154 (LM 11.00):   Contractor is scheduled to be onsite week of 11/26/18 to continue paving operations. Contractor will have roadway shut down to one lane to allow this work to occur. Motorists should watch for construction signs and construction equipment in roadway while this work occurs. RESTRICTIONS: Loads wider than 10' should seek alternate route. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

FENTRESS AND OVERTON COUNTY Resurfacing: SR-85 from west of SR-164 (LM 22.00) to west of Old Grimsley Road AND SR-164 from south of Roger Norrod Lane (LM 8.72) to SR-85 (LM 13.72):   Contractor will be onsite week of 11/26/18 to continue working on punchlist items. Intermittent lane closures or rolling roadwork operations will be used to allow this work to occur. Motorists should obey posted speed limit and watch for construction equipment present on roadway. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

OVERTON COUNTY SR-52 grading, drainage, signals and paving from near Oakley-Allons Road (LM 6.58) to SR-111 (LM 10.23):   Contractor has scheduled to be onsite beginning 11/26/18 to continue work on punchlist items. Shoulder closures will be used to allow this work to occur as needed. Motorists should obey posted speed limit and pay attention to construction signs and message boards. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-24 (E. SPRING ST.) eastbound from LM 19.72 to LM 19.98:   East bound between East Broad and Crockett Ave. Slight delays, currently working off West bound shoulder using flaggers, this area does not have a turn lane, work delayed last week due to rain. Crews will work 11/26/18-11/30/18 between 9am and 3pm

 

WHITE COUNTY SR-111 resurfacing from the Van Buren County line (LM 0.00) to Shady Oak Road (LM 4.20):   The contractor will be resurfacing throughout the project. This will result in temporary lane closures both directions during daytime hours. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

WHITE COUNTY The resurfacing on US-70 (SR-1) from LM 7.69 to LM 10.61; US-70 (SR-26) from LM 9.82 to LM 10.79; and SR-84 from US-70 (SR-1) LM 0.00 to LM 0.12:   Beginning the week of 11/26/18, the contractor will be placing guardrail at various locations along the project. Motorists should expect temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages during this time. Motorists are advised to observe the posted speed limits when entering the work zone, and to be alert of all construction personnel, equipment and vehicles. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

BLEDSOE COUNTY SR-101 bridge repair over Bee Creek (LM 8.98):   Work on this project is underway. For the safety of the traveling public, the bridge will be reduced to one lane and controlled with temporary signals. Estimated project completion date is September 2019.

COFFEE COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on I-24 eastbound from MM 96.8 to MM 126.8:   11/27/18: Coffee County maintenance crews will be patching potholes on I-24 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm between Eastbound MM 96.8 and 99.26. 11/28/18: Maintenance crews will continue patching potholes on I-24 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm between Eastbound MM 98.64 and 126.87.

 

COFFEE COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on I-24 westbound from MM 116.5 to MM 99.2:   11/26/18: Coffee County maintenance crews will be patching potholes on I-24 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm between Westbound MM 116.5 and 99.2. 11/27/18: Maintenance crews will continue patching potholes on I-24 from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm between Westbound MM 105.6 and 99.2.

 

COFFEE AND WARREN COUNTY SR-55 Resurfacing from north of Interstate Drive (LM 15.32) to north of Swan Road (LM 19.28):   The contractor will be milling the existing surface and resurfacing when milling is completed. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution. There will be temporary lane closures in both directions. Work will take place during the day between the hours of 6:30AM and 7:30PM. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-127 the construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over the Elk River (LM 6.21), including grading, drainage and paving:   Work on this project continues. RESTRICTIONS: Bridge will be reduced to one 10.5’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice. Estimated project completion date is December 2018.

FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-476 bridge repair over the Elk River (LM 3.39) and Hurricane Creek (LM 7.40):   Progress work on this project is in the final stages and will continue Monday through Friday 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM. FRANKLIN COUNTY US-64BR (SR-15) resurfacing from US-41A (SR-16) (LM 13.7) to west of Money Lane (LM 18.3):   Progress work on this project is in the final stages but will continue Monday thru Saturday 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM, weather permitting. The contractor may have lane closures in order to perform the necessary work. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and workers. FRANKLIN AND MARION COUNTY SR-156 Resurfacing from the Marion County line (LM 0) to the Marion County line (LM 2.05), from the Franklin County line (LM 0) to west of Frank Bolton Road (LM 3.06):   Work on this project will continue daily 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM, weather permitting. The contractor will continue the installation of thermoplastic pavement marking and rumble strips. The contractor may have lane closures in order to perform the necessary work. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and workers. Safety personnel will be present.  Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

MARION COUNTY I-24 WB resurfacing from the Grundy County line (MM 127) to east of the bridge over Cave Cove Creek (MM 134):   This project is complete and the final inspection has been conducted. Intermittent lane and or ramp closures may be used to allow contractor to address punch list items.  Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

MARION COUNTY SR-156 over Running Water Creek (LM 25.58) bridge rehabilitation:   SR-156 is reduced to one lane across Running Water Creek Bridge and controlled with a temporary traffic signal while the bridge is repaired. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

WARREN COUNTY SR-288 construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving:   The bridge is currently reduced to one 12-ft. lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone.

WARREN COUNTY SR-8 over Collins River (LM 8.14) Bridge Repair:   The bridge is currently reduced to one 11-ft. lane to allow the contractor to repair the existing bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. Estimated project completion date is August 2019.

BRADLEY COUNTY Utility Work on SR-60 (DALTON PK. S.E.) both directions from LM 9.30 to LM 9.30:   To connect electrical service to Dollar General Store, between Plantation Dr. SE and Whispering Hills Dr. SE located on west side of Dalton Pike SE. Signage and flaggers on the north bound side of the road. From: 11/22/18 one day of work. Between 9am and 3pm.

 

BRADLEY AND MCMINN COUNTY SR-312 (Bradley Co.) misc. safety improvements from the Hamilton Co. Line (LM 0.00) to Quill Dr. (LM 5.27); US-11 (SR-2) (McMinn Co.) misc. safety improvements from Sanford Rd. (LM 4.05) to Chapel Rd. (LM 12.32):   Work on this project is underway. The contractor will work in Bradley County during this report period. There will be intermittent lane closures. Flaggers will assist with traffic control. Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY I-24 East and West drainage improvement from MM 173 to MM 175:   The drainage improvement project at Exit 174 is underway. There could be lane closures along US-41 in the vicinity of the interchange ramps Monday - Wednesday (9-3PM) All ramps will remain open but could be subject to width and lane restrictions.  Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge:   Work on this project continues with activities occurring on the west side of southbound US-27. Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and leaving the area along the access ramps for east and westbound M. L. King Boulevard. The speed limit for the access ramp is 35 MPH. The 12th Street tie-in ramp to US-27 South has been temporarily closed. This closure will be in place until further notice. Additionally, the southbound ramp from W. Main St.to southbound US-27 has been temporarily closed and will remain so until further notice. Detours are posted. Motorists should pay close attention to the detour signage posted. The speed limit on US-27 in the construction zone remains 45 MPH. Weather permitting, the contractor may implement temporary lane/shoulder closures on weeknights between the hours of 7 PM and 6 AM. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on US-27. HAMILTON COUNTY US-127 (SR-8) slope repair of Signal Mountain Blvd. at log mile 16.05:   During this report period, the contractor will have one lane closed while performing slope stabilization operations. Temporary traffic signals are in place on either end of the project to control traffic. Additional flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed.  Estimated project completion date is December 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-153 resurfacing from I-75 (LM 0.00) to Shallowford Road (LM 2.60), including bridge deck repair:   This will involve lane closures on SR-153, Monday through Friday 9 AM to 3 PM and 8 PM to 6 AM. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY cleaning of the McCallie Tunnel on US-11 (US-64, SR-2), the Stringers Ridge Tunnel on US-127 (SR-8), and the Bachman Tubes on US-41 (US-76, SR-8):   The Stringers Ridge tunnel will be cleaned Monday, 11/26/18 (8 PM to 6 AM). The McCallie Tunnel will be closed for cleaning on Wednesday, 11/28/18 (8 PM to 6 AM). This will involve a flagging operation, with one way traffic. Bachman Tubes will be cleaned on 11/29/18 (8 PM to 6 AM). Both the Stringer's Ridge and the Bachman Tube cleaning will have a signed detour to direct traffic  Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-320 (East Brainerd Road) grading, drainage, installation of signals, construction of seven retaining walls and paving from east of Graysville Road to east of Bel-Air Road:   During this report period, the contractor will have intermittent lane closures between 9AM-2PM. This work may affect either direction of East Brainerd Road or side streets from Graysville Road to Hamlet Drive. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-58 miscellaneous safety improvements at the intersection of SR-312 (Birchwood Pike) (LM 15.70):   Contractor will be completing various safety improvements at the intersection of SR-58 & Birchwood Pike. No southbound traffic restrictions will be allowed between 5 AM and 9 AM. No northbound traffic restrictions will be allowed between 3 PM and 6 PM. Work will be allowed on Saturdays but flagging personnel will be present to ensure continued traffic flow. Estimated project completion date is April 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-11/64 SR-2 (Brainerd Rd./Lee Hwy.) resurfacing from east of Moore Road (LM 13.85) to east of Airport Road (LM 15.84):   During this report period, the contractor will have intermittent lane closures for resurfacing operations from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Additionally the contractor might have intermittent lane restrictions while adjusting utility manhole covers, this operation will take place Monday thru Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This work may affect either direction of SR-2 (Brainerd Road/Lee Highway) and between Moore Rd & Airport Rd. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

MCMINN COUNTY SR-30, grading, drainage and paving on SR-30 from Jackson Street to east of Knight Road in Athens:   Traffic along SR-30 through the project's length has been restricted to one lane in each direction with turning lanes provided at critical intersections and business access. This phase one construction activity has all traffic on the previous westbound side of SR-30. All businesses are provided with accessibility.  Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

MCMINN COUNTY SR-305 resurfacing from west of US-11 (SR-2) (LM 2.86) to west of I-75 (LM 5.00):   The contractor will have a lane closed with flaggers directing traffic as they work. Traveling public is advised to be aware of the flaggers on the project. The contractor will have one lane closed as they pave a section of the FDR for the winter. Estimated project completion date is December 2018.

POLK COUNTY SR-30 resurfacing from US-411 (SR-33) (LM 2.65) to west of Tellico Reliance Road (LM 8.00):   The contractor will have lane closures on this project during work. They will have pilot car directing traffic and also flaggers to help with traffic. The contractor will be working on the pavement marking and snowplowable markings. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.

POLK COUNTY US-64 (SR-40) construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Branch and TOHA Old Line railroad (LM 24.85), including grading, drainage and paving:   The contractor has shifted traffic onto the new bridge. REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance drainage work:   There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to clean rock and debris from ditches on an as-needed basis. One lane will be maintained at all times.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance pothole repair and pavement patching:   There will be possible short-term emergency lane closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to repair potholes and patch pavement on an as-needed basis. Depending on location and severity these repairs may be done during the day or at night. In addition to performing the work, regional Operations crews will also provide traffic control.

REGION 2 on-call cable barrier repair on various interstate and state routes:   The contractor may have short term shoulder closures in order to perform cable rail repair. Both travel lanes will remain open to traffic at all times on the Interstate during any work that is performed.  Estimated project completion date is December 2018.

REGION 2 on-call guardrail repair and new guardrail installation on various interstate and state routes:   The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform guardrail repair. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times on the Interstate, and flaggers will be present on State Routes during any work that is performed.  Estimated project completion date is June 2019.

REGION 2 preventative and unscheduled maintenance of Chattanooga SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System:   The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform preventative or unscheduled maintenance to the local SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System. Work hours are 9AM to 3:30PM. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. REGION 2 sweeping and drain cleaning on various interstate and state routes:   There will be mobile lane closures supporting a sweeping operation along regional interstates and highways through this reporting period. REGION 2 The relensing of snowplowable pavement markers on various Interstate and State Routes:   The contractor will be having intermittent lane closures on I-24, I-75, and US-29 in Hamilton, Bradley, and McMinn County starting on Thursday of this reporting period. The work will start around 7PM and last to 6AM. This will be a moving operation with THP assisting with traffic control. In Hamilton County parts of I-24, I-75, US-29, and SR-153, where there are 6 lanes or more, the contractor will have 2 lanes closed as they work on the middle and left lanes. They will try to do these areas during the weeknight if possible with a slight chance during the weekend. Estimated project completion date is November 2018.
