Governor and TDOT Commissioner Break Ground on Mack Hatcher Northwest Quadrant

FRANKLIN, Tenn. – Gov. Bill Haslam and Tennessee Department of Transportation Commissioner John Schroer joined state and local officials in Franklin today to break ground on the Mack Hatcher Northwest Quadrant.

The two-lane, 3.1-mile project is an extension of existing Mack Hatcher Parkway from Hillsboro Road (US 431/SR 106) north of downtown Franklin to SR 96 west of downtown Franklin.  

“We know this project has been needed for a long time,” Haslam said. “The IMPROVE Act gave us a way to fund projects like this, which had previously been backlogged due to rising construction costs.”

The $45 million project is scheduled to be completed in September 2021. It includes a 12-foot multi-use path and a half-mile long bridge the spans the bend in the Harpeth River.

“This part of Williamson County is booming,” Commissioner Schroer added. “We know this project will help keep traffic moving and provide some congestion relief for downtown Franklin.”

The contractor is Eutaw Construction, who had the lowest bid that met project requirements.
