CLAY COUNTY SR-52 slope repair at log mile 12.5:    Estimated project completion date is March 2018.

COFFEE COUNTY U.S. 41 (S.R.2) resurfacing of Hillsboro Blvd. from east of Hendrixson Drive to the bridge over I-24:   Weather permitting the contractor will continue working on the ADA ramps at this time. During the progress work this project may require intermittent lane closures. Estimated project completion date is May 2018.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 West near MM 326, construction of a truck climbing lane, including grading, drainage, construction of retaining walls and paving:   The contractor will require a lane closure to remove portable barrier rail at night between the hours of 7 pm and 6 am with the assistance of a state trooper. The right shoulder will be closed for the duration of the project as grade work activities are in progress constructing the truck lane and outside shoulder. Estimated project completion date is June 2018.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard:   Traffic control and erosion control measures are installed. Storm drain installation, box culvert construction, utility relocation, and grade work activities are in progress. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed to support grade work activities. Motorists should be alert for construction personnel and equipment along SR-101 Peavine Road. Estimated project completion date is November 2020.

DEKALB COUNTY Utility Work northbound from milepost 7.8 to milepost 15.7 on SR56 Cookeville Hwy./Congress Blvd.:   NB/SB lanes, flaggers present with temporary delays and/or traffic stoppage. Motorists should be aware of construction personnel and equipment along the route. Beginning February 26, 2018 from 6:30 am to 5 pm and estimated completion of May 1, 2018. [UO-2007050552-2018]

 

DEKALB COUNTY Utility Work westbound from milepost 13 to milepost 12.50 on SR96/ Center Hill Dam:   WB lane closure to take place on the Center Hill Dam for Lighting Construction. Signage will be in place for both lanes with flagger support. Speed limit will be reduced during work zone times, 7 am - 4 pm, with both lanes reopening after 4 pm. Motorists should use caution and be aware of personnel and equipment in the work zone. Work to begin March 5, 2018 with an estimated completed date of March 31, 2018. [UO-2007050704-2018]

 

FENTRESS COUNTY TDOT Maintenance both directions from milepost 2.0 to milepost 8.0 on SR‑85:   Roadway is closed due to pavement failure. Estimated completion date is April 2018.

 

FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-127 the construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge over the Elk River (L.M. 6.21), including grading, drainage and paving:   Work on this project continues. RESTRICTIONS: bridge will be reduced to one 10.5’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice. Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

FRANKLIN COUNTY SR-476 bridge repair over the Elk River (L.M. 3.39) and Hurricane Creek (L.M. 7.40):   The project is in progress. RESTRICTIONS: The bridge is reduced to one 9’ lane and controlled with a temporary traffic signal until further notice. Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

GRUNDY COUNTY TDOT Maintenance both directions from milepost 0.0 to milepost 10.0 on SR-50 Coffee-Grundy Co Line-SR-108:   DRAINAGE WORK-Crews will be cleaning ditches of rocks & debris from 7:30 AM-3:00 PM (CST) on March 8th through March 14th, 2018. Lanes will be temporarily slowed. Motorists are urged to use caution as they travel through this work zone.

 

GRUNDY COUNTY TDOT Maintenance both directions from milepost 18.0 to milepost 31.1 on SR108 Sheep Ranch Rd-Grundy-Warren Co Line:   SLOPE MOWING-From 7:30 AM-3:00 PM, March 8th through March 14th, 2018. Mowing for motorist to have clear visibility when approaching SR 108 from side roads. Lanes will be temporarily slowed.

 

GRUNDY COUNTY SR-56 bridge repair over Pepper Hollow Branch (LM 31.24):   Driving piles on south end of bridge. Excavating north end of the bridge then driving piles. Beginning form work for abutments. RESTRICTIONS: Bridge reduced to one 10' lane, no wide loads. Estimated project completion date is April 2018.

HAMILTON COUNTY U.S. 27 (I-124) widening from I-24/U.S. 27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge:   Work on this project continues. The contractor has closed the 12th Street tie-in ramp to U.S. 27 South. This closure will be in place until April 2018. Traffic from 12th Street will be detoured to Carter Street and then to Westbound MLK where motorists may access the U.S. 27 South on-ramp. Detours are posted. Motorists should exercise caution when traveling through the construction zone and pay close attention to the detour signage posted. On Thursday February 22nd, 2018, the contractor changed lane configurations on U.S. 27 North between Martin Luther King Blvd. and 4th Street. These changes affected the on-ramp to U.S. 27 North from MLK Blvd., and the off-ramp (Exit 1C) from U.S. 27 North to 4th Street. Traffic coming from downtown Chattanooga and using the on-ramp to U.S. 27 North from MLK Blvd. is required to come to a complete stop at the top of the ramp. Traffic wishing to access 4th Street at Exit 1C from U.S. 27 North is now directed to a new temporary exit ramp after crossing the 6th Street overpass. This new temporary exit ramp is narrow and posted for 25 MPH. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes due to the increased congestion between MLK Blvd. and 4th Street. The speed limit has also been reduced from 45 MPH to 35 MPH between Main Street and 4th Street on U.S. 27 North. The speed limit on U.S. 27 in the rest of the construction zone remains 45 MPH. Motorists should exercise caution when traveling through the construction zone and pay close attention to the signage posted. Weather permitting, the contractor may implement temporary lane/shoulder closures on weeknights between the hours of 7PM and 6AM. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on U.S. 27. THP will assist with traffic control on the project as necessary. RESTRICTIONS: I 124 (US-27) Northbound Exit 1C 4th Street Off Ramp. No oversize/over-dimensional loads. Width Limit is 11 feet. Estimated project completion date is January 2020.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-320 (East Brainerd Road) grading, drainage, installation of signals, construction of seven retaining walls and paving from east of Graysville Road to east of Bel-Air Road:   During this report period, the contractor will have intermittent lane closures between 9AM-2PM. This work may affect either direction of East Brainerd Road or side streets from Graysville Road to Bel-Air Road. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed.  Estimated project completion date is June 2018.

JACKSON COUNTY Utility Work northbound from milepost 15.33 to milepost 24.30 on SR-85 York Hwy:   Periodic utility work on shoulder from Hwy 53 junction to Overton County line. JACKSON COUNTY Utility Work northbound from milepost 5.31 to milepost 24.30 on SR-53 Granville Hwy/North Grundy Quarles Hwy:   Periodic utility work on shoulder North of Gainesboro, from Antioch Road to Big Branch Rd. Signage with flagger support will be present to slow traffic, but no lanes will be closed. Work to begin March 2018 through August 2018 weather permitting. [UO-2007050237-2017]

 

JACKSON COUNTY Utility Work northbound from milepost 9.46 to milepost 15.95 on SR135 Dodson Branch Hwy:   Periodic utility work on shoulder at Hwy 53 junction to Northwest of Blackburn Fork Road . Signage with flagger support will be present to slow traffic, but no lanes will be closed. Work to begin March 2018 through August 2018 weather permitting. [UO-2007050133-2017]

 

JACKSON COUNTY Utility Work northbound from milepost 9.64 to milepost 19.80 on SR56 Jennings Creek Hwy:   Periodic utility work on shoulder from the SR56/SR53 junction to South Fork Rd. Signage with flagger support will be present to slow traffic, but no lanes will be closed. Work to begin March 2018 through August 2018 weather permitting. [UO-2007050232-2017]

 

JACKSON COUNTY Utility Work westbound from milepost 5 to milepost 9.04 on SR85/ Gladdice Hwy:   Periodic utility work on shoulder at Hwy 53 junction West to Indian Creek Road. Signage with flagger support will be present to slow traffic, but no lanes will be closed. Work to begin March 2018 through August 2018 weather permitting. [UO-2007050192-2017]

 

MARION COUNTY TDOT Maintenance westbound from milepost 160.0 to milepost 161 on I-24:   Bridge Repair-In the WB lane, crew will be repairing bridge joints from 9AM-3PM, weekdays. Roadway will be reduced to one lane.

 

MARION COUNTY TDOT Maintenance both directions from milepost 0.0 to milepost 11.0 on SR-108 - Marion-Grundy Co Line:   Brush Removal- Crew will be chipping and loading fallen trees in ditches and right of way, from 7AM-3:30PM, weekdays, in both directions with lanes reduced to one.

 

MARION COUNTY TDOT Maintenance both directions from milepost 21.0 to milepost 33.0 on SR-2 Marion Co Park Rd-Raccoon Mtn. Dr.:   Shoulder Work-Crew will be pushing and pulling shoulders in both directions from 7AM-3:30PM, weekdays, with roadway reduced to one lane.

 

MCMINN COUNTY SR-30, grading, drainage and paving on SR- 30 from Jackson Street to east of Knight Road in Athens:   Work on this project continues. This project will upgrade SR-30 from a four-lane lane divided roadway to a five-lane urban-type roadway (two lanes in each direction with continuous center turn lane) and include curb, gutter and ADA-compliant sidewalks on both sides throughout the project area. The contractor has implemented the first phase traffic shift. The eastbound lanes are closed to traffic, and all traffic is using the existing westbound lanes, which have been marked and signed as a two-lane undivided highway from east of Jackson Street to east of Knight Road. Crossovers to businesses are reduced, but all businesses remain accessible.  Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

OVERTON COUNTY SR-52 grading, drainage, signals and paving from near Oakley-Allons Road (LM 6.58) to DR-111 (LM 10.23):   J&M is waiting on adequate weather for Rogers Group to complete paving on project. Motorists should use caution and be alert to construction equipment and vehicles within the work zone. The speed limit has been reduced to 45 MPH and is being enforced. Estimated project completion date is July 2018.

POLK COUNTY U.S. 64 (SR-40) construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Branch and TOHA Old Line railroad (LM 24.85), including grading, drainage and paving:   There will be intermittent lane closures as the contractor works to cut the embankment for the retaining wall. Due to safety concerns at the intersection of Pinecrest Road and US64, Pinecrest Road intersection has been closed. There are posted detour signs for residents to get to their homes on Pinecrest Road. This road will be closed during the duration of the construction of the Retaining Wall on US64. On Friday March 9 and possibly Saturday March 10 from 7:30 AM till 5:00 PM, the westbound lane on US64(SR40) will be closed as the contractor works to excavate dirt in front of the retaining wall at LM 24.5 to LM 25. Estimated project completion date is May 2019.

POLK COUNTY U.S. 64 (SR-40) from mm 13 to mm 17:   TDOT crews are in the process of removing and replacing 15 deteriorating cross drains on U.S. 64 in Polk County between log miles 13 and 17. During this report period, they are scheduled to replace pipes 9-12 out of 15, weather permitting. This work will take place between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. EST on weekdays and will require intermittent lane closures as the work progresses. Estimated project completion date is March 2018. PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 grading, drainage, construction of two concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridges, signals and paving at Mine Lick Creek Road (MM 283/LM 15.56) and construction of a State Industrial Access Road (Mine Lick Creek Road) serving Project Victor, including grading, drainage and paving:   Work on this project continues. The bridge at Exit 283 is currently open for Phase 1 traffic, allowing one lane of travel in each direction. Phase 2 of the bridge and Tennessee Ave are currently closed with flexible drums and barricades. Texture coating and pressure washing operations on the bridge have been postponed due to weather. One lane of travel in each direction is open on Tennessee Ave through the intersection of Hawkins Crawford/Mine Lick Creek Road. The contractor is currently working on grading operations at the intersection of Lee Seminary Rd (2) and Phase 2 of Tennessee Ave. Following the completion of grading operations will be the placement of base stone and asphalt binder mixes. All side drains have been installed along the SIA Academy Rd at various driveway and field entrance locations. Upcoming work on the SIA Academy Rd will include the installation of 18” RCP at Heartland Ln and Mike Maxwell Rd. This work may result in temporary lane closures along Tennessee Ave and the SIA Academy Rd. Motorists are advised to observe the posted speed limits when entering the work zone and to be alert to construction personnel, equipment and vehicles. Flaggers will be present to assist with traffic control as needed. Temporary pavement markings have been re-striped throughout the project due to fading caused by inclement weather. Estimated project completion date is April 2018.

PUTNAM COUNTY Old Baxter Road bridge repair over I-40 (L.M. 2.89):   Work on this project continues. The contractor will continue progress of constructing the concrete bridge rail and installing the permanent drain systems on the south end of the bridge. Barrier rail is installed on the inside and outside shoulders of I-40 eastbound and westbound for construction access. Motorists should use extreme caution and be alert to construction equipment and personnel. Estimated project completion date is May 2018.

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work northbound from milepost to milepost on SR-136 Jefferson Avenue:   . Signage will be present during sewer repair work for a single NB lane closure on Jefferson Avenue at Jackson Street. One NB lane and both SB lanes will remain open. Motorists should proceed with caution through the work zone. Lane closure between 9:00 am to 3:00 pm beginning March 15, 2018 with an estimated completion date of March 16, 2018.

 

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work northbound from milepost 3.37 to milepost 11.60 on SR-136 Jefferson Avenue:   Signage will be present during sewer repair work for a single NB lane closure on Jefferson Avenue from 1st National Bank to Krystal's restaurant. One NB lane and both SB lanes will remain open. Motorists should proceed with caution through the work zone. Lane closure between 11 pm to 4:30 am beginning March 14, 2018 with an estimated completion date of March 16, 2018. [UO-2007049581-2017]

 

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work northbound from milepost 9.72 to milepost 11.60 on SR-135 Willow Avenue:   NB lane closure for sewer manholes to be lined. PUTNAM COUNTY SR-135 resurfacing from south of Jackson Street (LM 9.75) to north of SR-290 (LM 11.64):   Work on this project continues. The contractor has completed mix placement along mainline SR135 and intersecting side roads. The contractor will continue to raise and adjust existing utilities when weather permits the placement of concrete collars. Once utilities are adjusted, the contractor will begin addressing the permanent pavement markings and remaining detail work. The contractor will utilize temporary lane closures in one or both directions during this time. Pavement marking will utilize mobile operations to complete portions of work. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control. Substantial work has been completed on the project and remaining punch list items are to be completed when weather permits. Estimated project completion date is March 2018.

VANBUREN COUNTY SR-111 grading, drainage, and paving from south of Manus Road to south of SR-285 near Double Bridge Road:   This project is complete pending final inspection. Estimated project completion date is March 2018.

WARREN COUNTY SR-288 construction of a concrete Bulb-Tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving:   The bridge is currently reduced to one 12-ft. lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal for the safety of the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. RESTRICTIONS: One lane bridge. Lane width 12 feet. Estimated project completion date is October 2018.

REGION 2 on-call guardrail repair on various interstate and state routes:   The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform guardrail repair. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly from Sunday at 6:00 P.M. to Friday at 6:00 A.M. and daily on State Routes. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times on the Interstate, and flaggers will be present on State Routes during any work that is performed. Estimated project completion date is June 2018.

REGION 2 preventative and unscheduled maintenance of Chattanooga SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System:   The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform preventative or unscheduled maintenance to the local Smartway I.T.S. system. Work hours are 9AM to 3:30PM. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. HAMILTON COUNTY - CNP230: I 124 (US-27) Northbound Exit 1C 4th Street Off Ramp. No oversize/over-dimensional loads. Width Limit is 11 feet.

WARREN COUNTY - CNQ270: One lane bridge. Lane width 12 feet.

REGION 2 - CNQ380: (Weather Permitting) I 24 will be reduced to one lane from mm 182.00 - 184.0 Friday night through Saturday afternoon, then I 24 will be reduced to 2 lanes at same location. I 24 should be opened completely by Sunday Evening.
