FULL CLOSURES Planned for MemFix 4 Project in Memphis

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews will temporarily close a stretch of Poplar Avenue in both directions this weekend. The closures are as follows.

  • Friday, September 28, 9:00 p.m. through Monday, October 1, 6:00 a.m. – Poplar Avenue eastbound and westbound will be CLOSED.
    • I-240 will be OPEN. See attached map.

In addition to the weekend closures, contract crews will be working during overnight in preparation for bridge work. The NIGHTLY closures are scheduled as follows.

  • Wednesday, September 26 and Thursday, September 27, 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. – Each night, there will be lane closures on Poplar Avenue eastbound and westbound.
    • ALL ramps from I-240 to Poplar Avenue eastbound and westbound will be CLOSED.
  • Monday, October 1 through Wednesday, October 3, 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. – Each night, there will be lane closures on I-240 in both directions.
    • The ramps from I-240 eastbound to Poplar Avenue AND from Poplar Avenue to I-240 westbound will be CLOSED.

***ALL WORK IS WEATHER DEPENDENT***

Full closures of I-240 and Poplar Avenue are also planned for several weekends in October. Announcements regarding those closures will be made prior to those weekends.
