Tennessee Department of Transportation to Reduce U.S. 41 at log mile 25.6 near Haletown in Marion County to One Lane Due to Roadway Instability

Traffic to be Controlled by a Temporary Traffic Signal

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – TDOT maintenance personnel have been working for several days to stabilize a section of U.S. 41 at log mile 25.6 near Haletown in Marion County that has shown cracking and signs of settlement.  The roadway has continued to settle, and TDOT geotechnical engineers have assessed the area to determine what is occurring and to come up with a possible solution for repair.  Until the repairs can be made, traffic will be reduced to one lane and controlled by a temporary traffic signal for the safety of the traveling public.  This traffic pattern will be in place until further notice.

Motorists are urged to use caution as they travel through this area.
