CLAY AND OVERTON COUNTY SR-111 resurfacing in Overton County from the Putnam County line to north of SR-293 and on SR-52 from west of Poor House Road in Clay County to west of Robbins Lane in Overton County:   Contractor has completed all paving operations. Contractor will be on site intermittently to complete punch list work. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY I-40 construction of a truck climbing lane EB near MM 339, including grading, drainage, and paving:   Construction signs, guardrail (westbound), and portable barrier rail (eastbound) have been installed. The contractor has begun grade work in the median behind portable barrier rail. Motorists need to slow down, use caution, and be aware of construction personnel in the work zone and equipment that will entering/exiting the roadway. Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-1 (US-70) emergency slope stabilization near LM 26.6:   Construction signs, portable barrier rail, and temporary traffic signals have been installed. SR-1 (US-70) will be reduced to one lane traffic between Godsey Road and Renegade Mountain Parkway while slope stabilization is in process. Motorists should exercise caution and pay attention to temporary traffic signals as they travel through the work zone.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY SR-101 (Peavine Road) grading, drainage, and paving from Firetower Road to Westchester/Catoosa Boulevard:   As grade work progresses, motorists should be alert for shifts in traffic patterns to allow for construction activities. The posted speed limit has been reduced from 45 MPH to 35 MPH within the work zone. Temporary lane closures and traffic stoppages may be needed to support paving and other activities. Dartmoor Road will be closed between Peavine Road and Wilshire Heights to install storm drain. Detour signs are in place and the duration is expected to be about 2 more weeks. Motorists should reduce speed on Peavine Road and be alert for construction personnel/equipment entering and exiting the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is November 2020.

DEKALB COUNTY SR-141 (LANCASTER RD) in both directions from LM 2.3 to LM 2.5:   The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is replacing a box culvert on SR-141 as part of the Center Hill Dam restoration project. SR-141 will be closed adjacent to Long Branch Campground from 10/01/19 to 10/22/19. The road will be impassible during construction of the culvert and a detour route is posted. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

DEKALB COUNTY SR-96 USACE dam restoration project from LM 12.5 to LM 13.5:   One lane closed and traffic is controlled by a temporary signal due to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers dam restoration work. Motorists should exercise caution as they travel through the work zone. Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

DEKALB AND WARREN COUNTY SR-56 construction of bridges and paving from south of Warren-Dekalb County (LM 24.5) line to East Bryant St (LM 2.9):   Clearing and grubbing activities are on-going. Flaggers may be present while equipment is off-loaded or crossing the roadway. Motorist are encouraged to use caution in the work zone.  Estimated project completion date is May 2022.

FENTRESS COUNTY Rotten Fork Road over Rotten Fork of the Wolf River Bridge Replacement:   Contractor is currently working on new bridge at Rotten Fork Road at LM 0.135. Rotten Fork Road remains open to traffic while new bridge is being constructed. Motorists are advised to use caution and watch for construction equipment adjacent to roadway. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

FENTRESS COUNTY Vines Ridge Road over Big Laurel Creek Bridge Replacement:   Vines Ridge Road remains closed at LM 1.06 and will remain closed until new bridge is constructed and in place. Approximate date for the length of closure is 11/30/19. Motorists should seek alternate route around Vines Ridge Road near location of construction. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

FENTRESS AND OVERTON COUNTY SR-85 emergency slide repairs at various locations:   The roadway is closed from LM 18.4 to LM 22.4 in Overton county. SR-85 will be opened to one lane of traffic in Fentress County between LM 3.50 to 8.00. The contractor is continuing work on this contract in the two areas listed above. The contractor has placed temporary traffic signals and will use portable barrier rail where the roadway will be shut down to one lane to allow traffic to flow through the work zone. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and seek alternate routes. RESTRICTIONS: Loads wider than 10' should seek alternate route. Estimated project completion date is January 2020.

JACKSON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-56 (JENNINGS CREEK HWY.) both directions from LM 23.57 to LM 24.38:   Mobile lane closures for utility work on Jennings Creek Hwy between Hwy 151 and Ward Fork Road. Signage and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution. Work will begin 08/19/19 through 10/23/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

 

OVERTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-84 (STATE HWY. 84) both directions from LM 0.00 to LM 0.7:   Utility work along US-84 from 0.1 before the Putnam County line to 0.7 on US-84. Signage, and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists need to use caution. Work will begin 09/23/19 through 10/18/19 from 9 AM to 3 PM.

 

OVERTON COUNTY SR-111 miscellaneous safety improvements at the intersections of SR-293 (LM 3.1 and LM 3.2):   Contractor currently has SR-111 from the LM 2.25 to the 3.75 shut down to one lane in each direction. This lane closure will remain until contract completion scheduled for 10/31/19. In addition to the lane closure, the speed limit through the work zone has been decreased to 55 MPH to increase safety of the motoring public and the contractor's personnel. SR-293 is affected at the intersection of SR-111 with the median crossings being closed for the duration of the project. Motorists are encouraged to obey 55 MPH speed limit and watch for construction operations adjacent to the roadway. RESTRICTIONS: Loads wider than 14' should seek alternate route. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

OVERTON COUNTY SR-111 resurfacing from south of Twin Oaks Road (LM 16) to north of Big Springs Road (LM 20) and on SR-294 from SR-111 (LM 0.6) to Oakley-Allons Road (LM 6.8):   Contractor has completed paving operations. Contractor will be on site intermittently completing punch list items. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

OVERTON COUNTY SR-294 bridge repair over Big Eagle Creek (LM 1.39).:   Contractor has placed barrier rail and has the roadway shut down to one lane. The roadway will remain shut down to one lane until contract completion scheduled for 06/15/20. During this time, a temporary traffic signal will be in operation to allow traffic to flow through the work zone. Motorists should use caution through the work zone, obey posted speed limit, and be prepared to stop at the traffic signal. RESTRICTIONS: No loads wider than 10 feet. Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

PUTNAM COUNTY I-40 near MM 296 bridge repair on Rocky Point Road over I-40:   Rocky Point Road bridge at LM 9.31 over I-40 is closed due to bridge repairs and will re-open November 2019. A detour is in place to guide motorists around the bridge closure. No lane closures on I-40 are anticipated during this period. Motorists are advised to use caution and be alert to all construction signage while traveling through the work zone. Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-136 (N. WASHINGTON AVE.) both directions from LM 4.3 to LM 5.4:   Road closures with a detour for the area between 10th Street and 11th Street. Message boards, detour signs, cones/barrels, and flaggers will be present during this week. Motorists need to use caution. Work will be done 09/12/19 through 10/18/19 from 8 AM to 3 PM. Road will reopen to allow school traffic to flow undisturbed.

 

PUTNAM COUNTY Utility Work on SR-84 (LIVINGSTON HWY.) both directions from LM 10.03 to LM 13.37:   Mobile lane closures for utility work on Livingston Hwy between Woodcliff Road and Stamp Shady Grove Road. Trucks with warning lights, signage and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution. Work will begin 08/15/19 through 10/14/19 between 8 AM and 3 PM.

 

PUTNAM COUNTY SR-136 resurfacing from US-70N (SR-24) (LM 4.15) to north of Whiteaker Springs Road (LM 7).:   Work will be performed on existing sidewalks and concrete curb ramps. This will result in lane closures each night on SR-136 between the hours of 7 PM and 6 AM. Motorists should use caution and be prepared for slowed traffic when traveling through the work zone. Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

WHITE COUNTY SR-1 (US-70) repair of the bridge over the Calfkiller River (LM 9.35) in Sparta:   Calfkiller bridge in Sparta is in the second of the three phases of lane closures. These phases will affect between Wilson Street and Church Street. This second phase will restrict both directions of traffic to one lane each. Workers will be working in the center of the bridge. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution and be alert to all construction signage while traveling through the work zone.  Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

BLEDSOE COUNTY SR-101 bridge repair over Bee Creek (LM 8.98):   Work on this project is underway. For the safety of the traveling public, the bridge will be reduced to one 10-foot lane and controlled with temporary signals. BLEDSOE COUNTY SR-28 slope stabilization in Bledsoe County near LM 28.8:   The contractor will be working on SR‑28 north from mile marker 28.7 to 28.9. The road will be reduced to one lane and controlled by a traffic light. Estimated project completion date is April 2020.

BLEDSOE AND SEQUATCHIE COUNTY SR-8 (US-127) from SR-28 (LM 14.9) to SR-111 then SR-28 (US-127) to south of Old York Hwy North (LM 7.9), SR-8 (US-127) from SR-28 (US-127)(LM 14.9) to SR-111 (LM 17.6), and SR-30 from SR-28 (US-127)(LM 10.3) to near Cherokee Ridge Road (LM 13.3) resurfacing:   Contractor has begun work. During construction, motorists are encouraged to use caution and watch for construction equipment and personnel in the roadway. The contractor will be working on the sidewalks through the downtown area. Pedestrians, please use caution when walking in the area and avoid the areas of construction if at all possible. Beginning Sunday, the contractor will be working from 6 PM to 6 AM. The road will be at times reduced to 1 lane controlled by a flagging operation. Please use caution when traveling through the area.  Estimated project completion date is June 2020.

CANNON, MARION, AND WARREN COUNTY SR-96 resurfacing from the Rutherford County line (LM 0) to the Wilson County line (LM 5), SR-150 (US-41) resurfacing from north of Sequatchie Mountain Road (LM 5.7) to the Grundy County line (LM 13.8), SR-156 resurfacing from east of River Landing (LM 15.5) to east of Nickajack Landing Road (LM 23.1), and SR-287 resurfacing from SR-379 (LM 5.2) to south of Shelbyville Road (LM 10):   Resurfacing operations on all sections are completed. Flaggers will be present while contractor completes final cleanup operations. Motorists are encouraged to use caution and watch for construction equipment and personnel in the roadway.  Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

COFFEE COUNTY SR-2 (US-41) resurfacing from SR-127 (LM 22.3) to the Grundy County line (LM 29.7):   The contractor has started the scrub sealing process which will be followed by the paving installation. FRANKLIN COUNTY Utility Work on SR-130 (OLD TULLAHOMA RD.) both directions from LM 13.19 to LM 12.87:   Mobile lane closures for utility work on Old Tullahoma Road between Creekside Market to just across Bridge at Winchester City Park. Cones, signage and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution. Work will begin 09/16/19 through 10/25/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

 

FRANKLIN AND MARION COUNTY SR-156 resurfacing from SR-15 (US-41A) (LM 0.0) in Franklin County to the Franklin County line (LM 2.9) in Marion County, including intersection improvements at Midway Road in Franklin County.:   The contractor will continue work with thermoplastic, rumble strips, and permanent pavement markings. There will be a flagging operation to control traffic.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

GRUNDY COUNTY I-24 (MM 127) the repair of the SR-50 bridge over I-24:   I-24 Lane Closure: 10/03/19 thru 10/08/19 from 7 PM to 6 AM, the contractor will have temporary lane closures on I-24 East Bound and West Bound to support the sandblasting and painting operations under the bridge. 10/04/19 to 10/07/19 from 7 PM to 6 AM, the contractor will be working around the clock and will have a lane closure on I-24 to perform sandblasting and painting work. SR-50 Lane Closure: a new traffic pattern has been installed, two 12' travel lanes will remain open at all times. Motorist are advised to use caution and be alert to construction personnel and equipment.  Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

GRUNDY COUNTY TDOT Maintenance on I-24 eastbound from MM 127.5 to MM 129:   I-24 East will be reduced to one lane of traffic for maintenance patch on Monday October 7th. from 8 AM to 11 AM. Traffic control will be in place.

 

GRUNDY COUNTY Utility Work on SR-108 (HWY. 108) both directions from LM 4.4 to LM 11.6:   Intermittent lane closures as crews transition work zone along SR-108 for utility work. From near Fish Branch Road to near SR-56. Signage and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution. Work will begin 09/03/19 through 10/11/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

 

GRUNDY COUNTY Utility Work on SR-399 (BAKERTOWN RD.) both directions from LM 2.0 to LM 3.5:   Mobile lane closures for utility work on SR-399. Cones, signage and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution while driving through this area. Work will begin 09/30/19 through 10/18/19 between 9 AM and 3 PM.

 

MARION COUNTY Permitted Work on SR-156 (STATE HWY. 156) both directions from LM 18.74 to LM 18.74:   CSX Railroad will be doing grade work requiring both directions of SR 156 to be closed from 7 AM on 7 October to 4PM on 9 October. Detour signs will be up on both ends of the route.

 

MARION COUNTY Utility Work on SR-283 (ALVIN YORK HWY.) southbound from LM 4.75 to LM 4.75:   Utility work at 2205 Alvin York Hwy. Signage, and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists need to use caution. Work will be 10/03/19 from 9 AM to 3 PM.

 

MARION COUNTY SR-156 over Running Water Creek (LM 25.58) bridge rehabilitation:   Both lanes of traffic on SR-156 are now open. Traffic light will be removed this week. Contractor will at times reduce traffic to one lane controlled by a flagging operation for texture coating activities. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

MARION COUNTY SR-2 (US-41) resurfacing from Ladds Cove Road (LM 1.5) to west of Nelson Lane (LM 10.9):   Project is underway, when contractor is present road will be reduced to one lane controlled by flagging. MARION COUNTY SR-2 (US-64, US-72, US-41) emergency slope stabilization between LM 25.20 and LM 26.40:   Work continues on this project. This project consists of slope stabilization. Contractor will continue to maintain one travel lane open to traffic with the restrictions of all wide loads. At this time traffic signals are installed and will remain in place until project is complete.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

WARREN COUNTY SR-288 construction of a concrete bulb-tee beam bridge over Collins River (LM 4.97), including grading, drainage and paving:   The bridge is currently reduced to one 10.5-foot lane to allow the contractor to construct the new bridge. While the bridge is down to one lane, traffic will be maintained and controlled by a temporary signal. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. WARREN COUNTY SR-8 over Collins River (LM 8.14) Bridge Repair:   Traffic signals have been removed, the bridge is open to traffic. While the contractor performs final clean up, temporary flaggers may be present for the safety of the workers and the traveling public. Motorists should expect periodic delays and use caution in the work zone. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

DISTRICT 29

 

HAMILTON COUNTY I-75 at I-24 Interchange Reconstruction:   The following lane closures will occur Sunday through Thursday between 9 PM and 6 AM: Double left or right lane closures I-24 EB MM 184.5, double/single left or right lane closure 75 NB MM 0 at state line, single left or right lane closure 75 SB MM 2, and single left lane NB and SB on Spring Creek Rd. Traffic pacing will also occur throughout this same time period starting at following locations: I-24 EB MM 181, I-75 NB MM 0 state line, and I-75 SB MM 3. These traffic interruptions will take place to accommodate preparations for phase 1 traffic shifts. 24 EB and 75 SB traffic shifts will be implemented. Additionally, shoulders may be closed at various locations between 9 AM and 3 PM for access to the median and roadside areas. The SPEED LIMIT has been reduced to 45 MPH throughout the interchange. Phase 1 traffic control for Spring Creek Rd. is planned for 10/13/19.

HAMILTON COUNTY US-27 (I-124) widening from I-24/US-27 interchange to north of the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River, including widening the Olgiati Bridge:   Work on this project continues with activities occurring on the west side of southbound US-27. Motorists should be alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the area along the access ramps for eastbound and westbound M. L. King Boulevard. The speed limit for the access ramp is 35 MPH. In addition, the southbound ramp from W. Main St. to southbound US-27 has been temporarily closed and will remain so until further notice. Detours are posted. Motorists should pay close attention to the detour signage posted. The speed limit on US-27 in the construction zone remains 45 MPH. Weather permitting; the contractor may implement temporary lane/shoulder closures on weeknights between the hours of 7 PM and 6 AM. At least one lane will remain open in each direction on US-27. HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-2 (LEE HWY.) southbound from LM 20.18 to LM 20.18:   Lane closure for utility work on Lee Hwy between Bonny Oaks Drive and Walker Road. Signage and flaggers will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution. Work will begin 10/03/19 through 10/18/19 between 9AM and 3:30PM.

 

HAMILTON COUNTY Utility Work on SR-8 (CHEROKEE BLVD.) both directions from LM 10.48 to LM 10.45:   Utility work will be performed at the intersection of Cherokee Blvd/W. Manning St/Harper St. This will result in lane and sidewalk closures between the hours of 9 AM and 3 PM. Arrow boards and signage will be present during this work. Motorists should use caution and seek alternate route for W. Manning St if possible. Work will begin 09/19/19 through 10/09/19.

 

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-111 Repair of bridge over SR-29 (US-27):   During this report period, the contractor will have one lane closed in each direction of SR-111 while performing bridge repairs. The contractor will also be closing one lane in each direction on SR-29 as it passes under SR-111. One lane in each direction shall remain open at all times. Also during this report period, beginning 10/06/19 thru 10/11/19 the contractor will be resetting the traffic control devices to the opposite side of the road. This operation will take place during night-time hours. Tennessee Highway Patrol will be present to assist with traffic control.  Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

HAMILTON COUNTY SR-153 resurfacing from north of Shallowford Road (LM 2.6) to north of SR-58 (LM 4.8), including bridge deck repair:   Construction operations will continue Sunday through Thursday during this reporting period. All work will happen between 8 PM to 6 AM and could involve double lane closures in either the NB or SB direction. At least one lane will remain open in each direction during the construction activity.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

MCMINN COUNTY SR-30, grading, drainage and paving on SR-30 from Jackson Street to east of Knight Road in Athens:   Traffic along SR-30 is in its phase two configuration with all traffic on the former eastbound side, providing one lane in each direction plus turning lanes at critical intersections and businesses. The intersection of SR-39/SR-30 has changed to a different configuration.  The traveling public should be alert.  Estimated project completion date is April 2020.

MCMINN COUNTY SR-39 resurfacing from South Jackson Street (LM 9.4) to east of Old Athens Englewood Road (LM 12.3):   During this reporting period, the contractor may have intermittent lane closures on SR-39 from 8 AM to 5 PM for the installation of construction signs. Motorists are advised to reduce speed in the work zone and watch for flaggers assisting with traffic control.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

POLK COUNTY SR-30 resurfacing from west of Tellico Reliance Road (LM 8) to near Greasy Creek Road (LM 13.1):   Work on this project is complete pending punchlist. The contractor may have intermittent lane closures on SR-30 between 8 AM and 5 PM to work on the punchlist.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

POLK COUNTY SR-40 (US-64) repair of bridges over North Potato Creek (LM 26.93):   During this reporting period, the contractor will be working on new approach slabs for the eastbound bridge and abutment repairs on the westbound bridge. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on SR-40 (US-64) for the duration of this work. Motorists are advised to reduce speed and use caution in the work zone due to reduced lane widths. RHEA COUNTY SR-30 grading, drainage and paving from west of New Union Road/White Oak Road (LM 12.6) to Sky Drive (LM 12.9):   During this report period, the contractor will be performing grading and drainage operations along SR-30 and New Union Rd. During the initial phase traffic will be maintained on SR-30, White Oak Dr. and New Union Rd. in its current pattern. Flaggers will be on-site to assist with heavy equipment entering & exiting existing roadways.  Estimated project completion date is November 2019.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance drainage work:   There will be possible short-term lane and shoulder closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to clean rock and debris from ditches on an as-needed basis. One lane will be maintained at all times.

REGION 2 TDOT Maintenance pothole repair and pavement patching:   There will be possible short-term emergency lane closures at various locations in Region 2 in order to repair potholes and patch pavement on an as-needed basis. Depending on location and severity these repairs may be done during the day or at night. In addition to performing the work, regional Operations crews will also provide traffic control.

REGION 2 preventative and unscheduled maintenance of Chattanooga SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System:   The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform preventative or unscheduled maintenance to the local SmartWay Intelligent Transportation System. Work hours are 9 AM to 3:30 PM. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times. Flaggers will assist with traffic control as needed. Estimated project completion date is October 2019.

REGION 2 on-call guardrail repair and new guardrail installation on various Interstate and State Routes:   The contractor may have short term shoulder and/or lane closures in order to perform guardrail repair. These closures will take place on the interstate nightly from 7 PM to 6 AM Sundays through Thursdays and daily on state routes. At least one travel lane will remain open to traffic at all times on the interstate, and flaggers will be present on state routes during any work that is performed.  Estimated project completion date is June 2020.
