Utility Work Prompts SR 131 Emory Road Closure in Knox County

Motorists traveling on Emory Road (State Route 131) in Knox County should be aware of upcoming road construction activities that will have a temporary impact on traffic.

On Saturday, February 21, Emory Road (State Route 131) will be closed at its intersection with Conner Road to allow for the installation of new overhead electrical wires on the east side of the intersection.

The first closure will occur at approximately 7 a.m., with the second closure 30-45 minutes later. Traffic will be allowed to travel through the work zone between these closures, which will each last approximately 5-10 minutes. Emergency vehicles will be able to travel through the work zone during all road construction activities.

This schedule is contingent on favorable weather conditions. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use extreme caution in this area as workers will be present.
