State Route 32 Slide Repair

Cocke County
Cocke SR 32 Slope Stabliziation

The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) is constructing repairs to State Route 32 in Cocke County. A slope failure below the roadway in August 2023 led TDOT to reduce traffic to one lane. This project, which includes construction of an 800-foot retaining wall, erosion control measures, and other slide mitigation measures, will enable the construction of two 12-foot travel lanes and a 12-foot shoulder when complete.

Current Status: Construction is underway. One lane remains open to traffic with temporary signalization.

Construction start: February 2024

Estimated completion*: April 2025

Funding Type: This project was federally funded through the PROTECT program.
