To start, I am a person in recovery from opioid addiction. I was set free from bondage on October 31, 2012. I have had the pleasure of working as a CPRS which enables me to use my story to help others. I consider myself truly blessed because not only have I experienced life in active addiction but also in recovery. I know what it’s like to be held captive by the drugs, and I know now what families and loved ones experience. I have lost several friends due to opiate addiction. I consider this a gift from God when others may see it as a defect. We do recover!
Since my journey in recovery started I was able to complete a formal education along with many other certifications. Today I am truly blessed to have what I once thought was impossible. When someone sees me today, I want them to know there is life beyond addiction. I want them to see that recovery is real, and recovery is the new high!
