Davidson County wildlife officer John Mark and Region II Marketing and Communications coordinator Barry Cross made a May visit to Aventura Community School, a new public bilingual (English/Spanish) school in southeast Nashville.

Aventura was launched in the 2022-23 school year and currently offers grades K-2 and will add one grade level each until reaching the 8th grade. John spoke to the students, primarily in Spanish about the Agency, answered questions from the inquisitive students, and had the popular bones box. Barry brought along the Wildlife on Wheels trailer with its various displays.

The visit will hopefully promote interest in the outdoors for the students and their families. Plans include another visit for the school’s summer school.
