The TWRA teamed up with the Tennessee Agricultural Museum and The Nature Conservancy for a Bat House Building Workshop in June. The workshop was designed for children ages 7 and above with an accompanying adult.

Assisting with the workshop from TWRA were Region II Biodiversity Survey Coordinator Mallory Tate, Region II Biodiversity Survey Manager Michaela Bass, Wilson County Biodiversity summer technician Brooke Kilday and Ethan Hayes, Region II Biodiversity intern.

During the hands-on workshop, the participants learned about the importance of bats, their need for shelter, and the proper way to build and install a bat house to help bats survive in Tennessee. The building materials were provided courtesy of The Nature Conservancy.
