Tennessee’s ESSA Plan Amendment

The Tennessee Department of Education (department) will be amending the ESSA State Plan to update all sections to align with current priorities and to meet the requirements of the Spring 2021 consolidated monitoring by the U.S. Department of Education.
An integral part of this amendment process is the convening of collaborative working groups to assist with input on the state’s strategic plan’s key priorities: Academics, Assessment & Accountability, Career Readiness, Educators, Student Supports, Turnaround, and Unique Subgroups of Students.
Further, there will be regional meetings, a public comment period, and additional opportunities to gather stakeholder feedback during this process.
