Coping with Alzheimer's and Other Dementias

Alzheimer's Disease is the most common type of dementia, but not the only type. Dementia refers to several diseases of the brain that can cause confusion and affect memory. Patients may also experience changes in personality and social behavior that interfere with daily activities.

This session covers the common types and main stages of dementia, as well as what can be done for patients. The discussion includes the unique burden on caregivers, as well as various opportunities for the community to lessen caregivers' burdens. Also provided is information to explain the behavior of people with dementia, how it may change, and how you can manage it.
