Hemp-Derived Cannabinoids Licensing

License Types:

  • Hemp-Derived Cannabinoid Supplier:  "Supplier" means a person or entity that manufactures hemp-derived cannabinoids or sells products containing hemp-derived cannabinoids to retailers.
  • Hemp-Derived Cannabinoid Retailer:  "Retailer" means a person or entity that sells products containing a hemp-derived cannabinoid for consumption and not for resale.

Licensing Process:

  1.  Complete and submit application form. (Available July 1)
  2.  Applications will be processed in the order received.  Once an application has been processed, an email will be sent to the email address provided on the application. This email will prompt applicant to log into TDA’s secure portal and upload required documents.
  3.  See required documents listed below.
  4.  Once the required documents are uploaded to TDA’s secure portal, TDA will review the documents for final approval. If TDA has questions about the documents provided, the applicant will be contacted.
  5.  With final approval of documents, an email will be sent to the email address provided on the application.  This email will provide an invoice for license fee(s) and prompt the applicant to log into TDA’s secure portal to submit payment for license fee(s).
  6.  Once license fees are paid in full, a digital permit will sent to the applicant via email. The permit shall be printed and posted conspicuously inside the business.

2.    Tennessee Department of Revenue Sales and Use Tax Certificate of Registration
