Public Hearing
The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) Division of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) will conduct a public hearing to receive comments on its draft modification to the Hazardous Waste Permit TNHW-161, as requested by Galapagos Industrial Park (Galapagos). Galapagos (EPA ID No. TND061314803) is located in Hamilton County at 4902 Central Avenue, Chattanooga, TN 37410.
TDEC invites the public to submit comments on this proposal during a 45-day comment period ending on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. The public hearing will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at The Bethlehem Center, 200 W 38th St, Chattanooga, TN 37410, as well as via video teleconference. From 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. EDT, an informational session will be held.
The public may inspect and discuss the draft modification, the fact sheet, and other materials with the DSWM and with representatives of the applicant. There will also be an opportunity for comments to be recorded or written and submitted during this time. The formal hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m.
