12-15-2023 - Tennessee's Draft 2024 List of Impaired Waters & Framework for EPA's 2022 Vision

***UPDATE - Due to inclement weather and hazardous road conditions, this hearing on January 16th will be held virtually only through Microsoft Teams.***

The draft 2024 List of Impaired and Threatened Waters in Tennessee, along with Tennessee’s Prioritization Framework for the 2022-2032 Vision for the Clean Water Act Section 303(d) Program, are now available for public review and comments. The Impaired Waters document, developed by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation, compiles waterbody segments that violate one or more water quality criteria, or are documented as threatened by pollutants. The Framework document outlines the Department's plans to prioritize and implement measures of restoration and protection through our Section 303(d) Program.

Comments on these draft documents will be accepted through
February 15, 2024, and should be directed to Richard.Cochran@tn.gov.

To further facilitate public review and comments, a public hearing has been scheduled.

The meeting will be held in person at the above address, and will also be available through videoconference, so the public may attend remotely.

Please see the public notice document for additional information and the link for virtual attendance.
