Strategy & Planning
Vision, strategy, and planning are crucial to the success of any endeavor, and that stands true for conservation and outdoor recreation. We engage stakeholders, develop outdoor strategies, provide data and spatial analytics, support state and local planning efforts, assess conservation needs, assess the demands for outdoor recreation, and identify opportunities for success in Tennessee’s great outdoors.
Tennesseans Outdoors – Vision 2030
Tennesseans Outdoors – Vision 2030 outlines the recreation, parks, and conservation priorities for the State of Tennessee for the next 10 years (2020-2030). The main focus of this plan outlines the priorities that fulfill Tennessee’s Statewide Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP), which will serve as a guide for all public outdoor recreation in urban and rural neighborhoods, cities, and regions for our state. Each state must prepare a SCORP every five years to be eligible for funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). TN 2030 builds upon the TN 2020 and TN 2020 Update plans.
Participate
A critical element to any successful plan, is active engagement from stakeholders and the public. Tennesseans Outdoors – Vision 2030 is a roadmap for the future of outdoor public recreation, and the guidance and feedback provided by meaningful public participation is essential for the plan to accurately reflect the needs and desires of our great state.
