Human Trafficking
Human trafficking, also known as modern day slavery, is quickly becoming a major public health concern. Today, there are an estimated 40.3 million modern day slaves worldwide. Overlooked and vulnerable populations are most at risk of being trafficked, spending their lives being exploited for the profit of others. Human Trafficking is a hidden crime and its victims rarely come forward to receive help or services. Unfortunately, victims and survivors are at high risk for negative physical and psychological health outcomes.
It is crucial to raise awareness and educate our communities. By strengthening partnerships and coordinating awareness and prevention efforts, we can protect survivors, empower our communities and fight to end human trafficking.
