About this event

Join us for a unique experience as we celebrate the traditional craft of wool washing at Marble Springs State Historic. This pop-up event will give you the opportunity to learn about the process of washing wool, from sheep to finished product, while enjoying the scenic beauty of the historic site.

During the event, we'll be demonstrating the art of wool washing, using traditional methods to clean and prepare the raw wool for spinning. You'll have the chance to get up close and personal with the wool, learn about the different types of wool and their uses, and even try your hand at washing some wool yourself.

We're also excited to offer children's activities and mini weaving demos for our young visitors. Kids will have the chance to learn about the different tools and techniques used in weaving, and even create their own small woven pieces to take home.

Please come dressed in clothes you don't mind getting messy, as wool washing can be a bit wet and dirty. This event is suitable for all ages and skill levels, and we encourage you to bring the whole family for a day of fun and learning.

This learning experience is free for the public!
