About this event
Join us on Saturday, July 20th, either from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm or 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Marble Springs State Historic Site for an engaging sourdough bread-making workshop presented by Leahanne Clement of Leahanne's Homemade Breads.
In this workshop, you'll delve into the history of sourdough breads, dating back to 3700 BCE, and explore how bread baking methods have evolved over time. We'll cover essential topics such as caring for, feeding, and discarding a sourdough starter. You'll also learn how to form and shape your own sourdough loaf.
Participants will receive a free recipe for making their own starter and loaves at home. Additionally, you'll have the chance to sample freshly baked sourdough breads and homemade butter. For those eager to continue their baking journey, loaves of sourdough bread and active starter kits will be available for purchase.
Don't miss this opportunity to learn from a local expert baker and start your own sourdough baking adventure! Please RSVP so there are enough samples to go around!
